You Know You Want It

As most of you know, I am part of the amazing team over at Work It! Mom.  Coolest. Job. Ever.

Seriously.

In addition to my column (Where I play an expert in all things marriage, love and relationships)(I am SO KIDDING.  I’m just making it up as I go along), I am in charge of the Problem Solved blog. It is way too much fun to be called “work”.

If you need a laugh (and are not faint at heart) read this post.  I giggle like a school girl every time I read it.

Work It! Mom has recently been overhauled.  It is new! Improved! All sorts of shiny! We are looking for input as to what people like over there (Have I mentioned that I have a column? And run another?) and what improvements that they might suggest.

Enough talk on my part.  Here is where I tell you that I want to give you a $25 gift card to Amazon.com

Here is how you enter:

1. Click and check out Work It! Mom.

2. Come back HERE and leave a comment about it. Likes (Um, me? Or maybe the recipes? Or the slide shows?) and dislikes.

3. I will leave comments open until Wednesday, December 17th at midnight.  Unless I decide to close them sooner.  I’m awesome like that.

I will then use Random.org to choose the winner.

Enough blabber. Go! Come Back! Comment! WIN.

**OK!  Matthew and I just sat down (I wanted a witness) and used Random.org

The winner is Amanda! Yes she is one of my closest friends, so this might seem rigged, but please see the screen shot above.  Yay Amanda!

  1. It looks great. I think it’s pretty newby-friendly, which I appreciate, as a newby. I checked out the recipe for chicken hummus wraps – yummm, also I like the “parenting tip” cool ideas.
Thanks for sending me over… I’ll be back

  4. Things I like:

the blogs (I get to read more from people I already like i.e. Kristin, Whoorl, and of course you!)
the recipes (although I haven’t yet tried anything)

and p.s. that sex after marriage post made me giggle too.

I like the header – so clean – so workin’ it. I also like that I can subscribe to an RSS feed of just my favorite columns (like yours!).

  6. I sent that post to my husband with a smirk, it was way too accurate and funny :-)

I have tried at least one recipe over there, and Work It, Mom has LOADS of great writers whose personal blogs I read – so I’ve started added different parts to my feed reader.

  8. It looks great – I like that there are a number of headlines in each category, but not so many it’s overwhelming. The site also loads much faster than it has in the past (at least for me). I’m impressed!

  9. I like the new layout … it’s clean. I think the home page inline content features could be organized better. I would move “write a blog” to under the “from our bloggers” section. Make the middle column “daily inspiration”, “get the essentials” and “affordable luxuries”. Below the ad spot have “member question” and “member lifesaver.” That kind of organizes the columns better for the user. “Unique personalized gift ideas” seems a bit random. Maybe move to middle column?

  20. I’m a simple girl at heart, so I really like the simplicity of the design, and how easy it is to get around the site. I also like the colors (ooh, pretty! no really, though: they are pretty), and while I didn’t think at first that I was a fan of the all lowercase headers, they are growing on me.

  21. You know how the internet is, you start clicking and hours later you find yourself commenting on a stranger’s blog. I never saw the previous incarnation of Work It Mom, but this version seems to be doin pretty good for itself. Clean and bright, like my kitchen ought to be.

Anyway, I liked the Affordable Luxuries, because even though I can’t afford even those, I like to think about it.

I have been visiting Work It Mom for a while now. I started reading Organizing Disorder first and now I read a lot of the other bloggers too, including you and whoorl and Kristin. I like that I can quickly see the latest post from each blogger so I can see if it is new and if I’m interested without too many clicks.

I want the amazon gift card because now I want to buy something for myself (and hubby wink wink). I’m thinking about trying the hanky panky thong that whoorl wrote about last week.

Whta I use the most is the “from our bloggers – see all” function – to get to all my fave bloggers posts quickly. I’m not so interested in the “most popular” blogs. I find the home page pretty busy…but I find the site very easy to navigate through. I love searching through the recipes too.

I read the blogs mostly — Mir is a fave. I occasionally poke around at other stuff, but rarely does anything else really grab me.

I like the clean, uncomplicated design. It’s a refreshing!

Also, as someone who is not married I love reading your column… I store up the information in my brain (& heart?) hoping to avoid some common marital pitfalls. (I’m quite the idealist. :) )

I was doubtful that the site would apply to me as I don’t have any kids…but as I read various articles (especially ones from your column), I found a lot of useful information about marriage regardless of kids. My husband and I have only been married a few years and I found many of the articles really helpful!

The site was very user friendly.

(this is the first time I have EVER commented on a blog before!)

Love it. And I’m not technically a mom, hope that’s okay :) It’s in the works and we’re trying up a storm (too much?). Anyway, I really love your article on “making it to forever.” I come from a broken home but hubby’s parents have a wonderful marriage. They are our role models in making it work and sticking through all of the ups and downs. Like you, we take our vows literally and the d-word is not on the table. period.

  42. Well, I’m obviously not in the demographic they’re shooting for, but I can comment as a web designer. The site design is smart — good categories, easy access to deeper levels of content, clean, uncluttered layout. Visually, it might almost be too clean…all that arctic white and cool blue might be considered downright chilly. But that’s a quibble. Looks great.
