The month of November is (usually) known for snow (see above photo that shows the exception), Movember (my brother Lance is growing a mustache and looks like he should be on a WANTED poster) and NaBloPoMo (National Bog Posting Month).
I’ve participated in NaBloPoMo for the last three (Four?) years (but not Movember, much to my husband’s delight) and due to the fact that my life is INSANELY busy, laughed at the thought of participating this year. Because that would be CRAZY.
And yet, I have posted every day in November so far. I’m wondering if I should keep the ball rolling. Posts I write elsewhere count, as long as I link to them in my side bar. In addition to Work It! Mom, The Daily Grommet and The Bad Mom’s Club, I could post some recipes and update my photography site. Those latter two have been horribly neglected, so maybe this would be a good kick in the pants to do that instead of, I don’t know, sleeping?
It would probably mean that I have to post more here as well but that might not necessarily be a bad thing.
What say you, friends? Are you doing NaBloPoMo? Do you think I’m insane for considering it? (Be gentle with that last question, if you would.)

I am doing NaBloPoMo this year for the first time, so since it would imply that I too am insane for doing it I say, “You’re not insane at all!” I’m pretty sure busy, fully commited lives are what some of us were born to do. For me even as a kid I’d fill my plate as full as possible to make sure I didn’t let anyone down and that never a moment was had were boredom was my problem. I’m still like that, I commit to a bazillion things always, rarely sleep and while I may complain now and again, secretly I’d have it no other way.
Not sure why that’s relevent to you, but I say if you’ve got the gumption go for it, we’ll keep reading

I’ve never participated in it and don’t think I will. I like the freedom of writing when I want to right. I don’t need one more “obligation” to tack onto my already long list. Blogging is for me when I feel like it. But are you crazy for considering it? Hmmm. No. You’re just being you.

I am with Sizzle, I doubt I would ever participate. I just don’t have the time right now and I like sleep.
But if you want to do it, go for it! It’s a personal choice.
Quite honestly, I am not a huge fan of the whole idea – I just think it’s too much – to write, for readers to read, etc.

This is the first year I’m not participating (I think I did it every year for the past 3 years). Probably because I just did a 30 day posting thingy not that long ago, and didn’t want to have all that pressure piled on me again so quickly. If you’re already posting pretty much every day, and it’s not extra stressful for you, I’d say go for it. I always like reading what you’ve written, so I’m all for reading more of your stuff.

I’m going to selfishly say, YES DO IT! I love reading your posts, so I’d gladly get my Angella fix each day. Happily. But you know best, and that beauty of a family of yours gets first dibs on your time and energy. xoxo!

I’m doing NaBloPoMo again this year, and I usually do Holidailies right afterwards for December. I’m frequently burnt out by January 1st but it helps me get back into the habit of writing regularly again.
I definitely think you should do it if you feel up to it!

I forgot all about it, oops. I wish I had the time to post daily, but taking care of the kids during the day and then working at night is cutting into all of my time. I have thought about not posting altogether because I miss sitting in my comfy chair and reading for hours on end. One of these days I’ll have the time for all of that and then I’ll probably miss all of these things that are keeping me busy.
I don’t think you’re insane if it’s something you really want to try. If you don’t complete the task, I won’t judge.

I skipped NaBloPoMo this year in deference to NaNoWriMo.

I realized that I’d been posting every day anyway, so I’m going to continue. I’m going to keep it to only a couple “long” posts, and mostly short tidbits with photos, as to not make my readers go “uuuuuuuggggggggggggh not ANOTHER one!”
That’s not what *I* say when I see NaBloPoMo posts, but … self-esteem, FTW!

I don’t have the energy to do it but I’m (selfishly) happy that many of my favourite bloggers (you included!) are doing it so I have more posts by them to read

Um, the mustache totally creeped me out.

Not crazy at all. I think for many of us blogging is an enjoyable hobby, and rather than think of it as work, it’s often a way to unwind, so go for it!
The only crazy part is getting bent out of shape if you don’t succeed. If you’re going to beat yourself up if it doesn’t work out don’t do it.
Just my 2cents
I’m doing NaNoWriMo. I love it. I will succeed! If I don’t, well I’ll probably beat myself up. HA!

I think you should only post when you want to post. No silly pressure.
[Reply]
I’m doing it!!!!
Go for it. I think with all of the posting you do here and elsewhere you’ll have no trouble getting something on every day. And what’s the worst that happens if you don’t get 30 posts?
For me… it’s a way to get me motivated. I’ve done it 3 years now. I almost skipped it this year… but it’s a way to get myself back into my blog. I seem to slack off through the summer and need a little help getting back.

Working on blogging more frequently. I’m still not sure why words aren’t flowing like they do in my personal letters and emails. I think I am too stiff and formal, too polite.

I’ve never done it, and I don’t think I ever will. It’s hard enough to blog 5 times a month at the moment, let alone 30 times! I actually dread November because lots of my friends participate and I simply CANNOT keep up with the reading and commenting … sigh!!

Oh, but I should point out that you should totally go for it if you want to! I will still read … it’s just that I may not be able to comment on all your posts (which would make me sad, because I love your blog and I try to comment on all your posts because they are all so great and I am rambling now so I will stop).

I’m participating for the second year in a row, but I almost gave up in the first few days – http://www.myramblings.ca/?p=1511
I say go for it! It’s only a month.
