Word To Your Mother

Sunday is the day that we honour our Moms. There will be a billion posts written in the blog world about Moms. I, however, am going to be a little different. It’s a post about ME.

What? I’m a Mom. Three times over, in fact.

Actually, it’s about G & Me at the Mother’s Day Tea.  I’m a poet and didn’t know it.

This past Thursday Graham had Playschool, and there was a tea for us Mommies. We all arrived at 11:00 and our kids led us to tables laden with sweet treats. Which our kids promptly inhaled. Can you blame them? If I thought nobody was looking, I probably would have scarfed them all before the kids had a chance.

I had thrown my little Powershot in my purse while packing for my weekend away, so I have pictures! Except I’m so used to the Rebel that I forgot how to use my Powershot and most of my pictures are blurry! Awesome. Excuse the crappiness.

The kids sang us a song. So. Cute. Except Graham doesn’t sing. He’ll lip sync sometimes, but the first song consisted of him scowling. Stupid focus. Can’t show you. I can show you this, though:

Stop!

The kids performed a second song, and Graham ACTUALLY DID THE ACTIONS! This is groundbreaking news! And I have picture proof!

Pussywillow

Again, excuse the poor quality. I suck.

Then they gave us presents. That they made. Here’s my loot:

Presents!!

I used the flash! Look at me go. Photography 101.

See that pink sheet? There are leading questions, and then the teachers wrote in what Graham answered.

OK. Pay attention. Leading question in BOLD. Graham’s answer is in italics. My oh, so witty commentary (is in brackets). There will be a quiz later. Or not.

Ready?

MY MOM IS…pretty

(Awwww)

MY MOM LIKES TO…eat fries and chicken fingers at A&W.

(Busted)

HER FAVORITE COLOR IS…red

(Um. And Blue.)

I LIKE BEING WITH MY MOM WHEN…we play at the park.

(We’ve gone ONCE this year. So. He has liked being with me only once?)

IF I COULD GIVE HER SOMETHING SPECIAL, I WOULD GIVE HER…a dinosaur.

(Oooh! A dinosaur! How did he know that’s what I’ve always wanted? A dinosaur would make me the coolest Mom EVER!)

I LOVE MY MOM BECAUSE…she loves me.

(Dude. You’re killing me.)

He also made me this:

Bracelet!

I’ve been wearing it ever since.

We then took pictures of funny faces. Here’s one of them:

Me & G

I’m heading home Sunday afternoon to hang out with him and these two:

Emily

Nathan

Can’t. Hardly. Wait.

Oh! And a Happy Mother’s Day to all other Moms, including mine!

  1. How cute – I also have a bracelet a bit like that, only it is too big (and too small to be a necklace) so it hangs on my computer desk. Love it!!

Happy mother’s day to you too – enjoy your kids when you get home!! I bet they have missed you :-)

Pics looks great btw. The photos of us as kids are from 100 yards away anyway. At least we know which one is Graham!
