After two weeks of company/me traipsing to San Francisco/more company, Honey and I ditched the kids left our kids in the trusty hands of Uncle Lance and ventured out on a Date Night.
Date Night in our home = Home Depot + Wal*Mart = Dinner out. Dinner Out makes up for Home Depot + Wal*Mart.
So here I am! All gussied up!
Ish.
(Click on it to see all of the Flickr notes.)
Here I am on the highway drive into Penticton.

Lest you think I am (utterly) vain, let me give you a glimpse into our conversation in the truck.
Me: “So, what are you thinking?”
Him: “I’m thinking about driving.”
Me: *Pulls camera out of bag*
After running the necessary errands, we went to Salty’s Beachhouse for dinner.

I may have had a bevvie…or two.

While Honey was paying the bill, I thought I would scoot off to the Little Girl’s Room. I followed the signs to the Restrooms (Not washrooms; they don’t have those in the States), and happened upon the following doors.
Door # 1:

Door # 2:

Which door do you think is the women’s restroom?
Even more interesting…which door do you think I opened?

I would choose door #1 Wahine and hope there wasn’t a surprise on the other side.

Wahine.

I know Wahine is for the ladies, but only because I have been to Hawaii. I love that you went in the men’s bathroom. I did that once at an Outback restaurant. I don’t speak Australian, apparently. ; )

I would go with Wahine only because I am pretty sure Kane is a bad guy. Or am I thinking of Citizen Kane…
I am guessing you chose wrong or wouldn’t ask.

Kane is more masculine in my head so I would choose Wahine and I’m guessing you did too

i happen to already know those two words, but i’m curious what happened when you opened the door…

I would have gone with Wahine, but I’ve been to Hawaii.
And there are too washrooms in the U.S. When I was growing up, we called them washrooms at school in the Midwest. Oddly, that was only at school, though. Anywhere else we called them bathrooms or restrooms.

Oh dear! I think I would have gone with Wahine…Well, actually I probably would have turned around and found a restroom somewhere else! Love the pictures and your outfit!

Clearly the only solution to your problem is to spend more time in Hawaii!

I would have picked Wahine too…only because I’ve only heard Kane as a guys name. But that’s super hilarious! Especially after a few bevvies. And I could just imagine someone like my mom coming back to the table to ask us what door she should go through!

Wow, you look great!
And I hate it when the restrooms have “clever” signs on the doors. I do not need that kind of stress when I’m out.

i know wahine is ladies… because hubby often uses the phrase, “wiki wiki wahine”…. which he believes means something like, ‘hurry up, woman!’ If anyone knows if that’s in fact correct, I’d sure like to know about it!

Did you open the wrong door? If so I hope no one was in there.

I would have opened Wahine (if only because it starts with a W and so does Women … but this logic is flawed because Weenie starts with a W also. Crap.)
I’m guessing you opened Wahine.

Tracy – you are correct in your translation. When I went to Hawaii, at the airport ppl were taking about the Wiki Wiki Shuttle and I thought it was SO COOL everyone spoke Hawaiian…but that is just the name of the quick little shuttle around the airport.

That’s the worst when you really have to pee. There’s a cafe here that has weird labels on the doors that I couldn’t even pronounce and I had NO clue what they meant. I stared at each door in indecision while I squatted and wiggled around to avoid peeing my pants- then a man walked out of one of the doors. I took that as my cue to walk in the opposite one. I still don’t know if I went in the right door, but all I care about is that I was able to relieve myself.
I think KANE sounds more masculine…and it’s probably the one you went in. (PS- Once IN the bathroom, you can usually tell whether it’s meant for men or women b/c men’s bathrooms SMELL. ew)

wahine. I only know because I’m a big Hawaii hobag. I mean, Because I’ve been to Hawaii enough to absorb a few words. Wow. I don’t type well for being on vacation while typing on gin on an iPod touch is not a good thing.

I was going to say you’ve clearly never been to Hawaii- but I think that has definitely been established!
Wahine (pronounced Wah-Hee-Nay, I think!?) sounds like a good name for a girl’s crotch, doesn’t it? Like, “My wahine was totally on fire after I pushed out that 10lb baby.”
