I have been on the Internet even less than usual the past couple of days because we had some friends come to visit. My laptop was still open (as you will see in a photo below), but we spent more time talking and visiting in person than we did online.
Who these friends are is not a mystery if you are a Twitter or Flickr friend of mine (or theirs), but I would love to give a quick back story.
I mentioned that during my trip to BlogHer I may or may not have burst into tears in H&M. I had all of a sudden found myself alone, in downtown San Francisco, without any concrete plans. I called Honey to check in on him and the kids and told him that I HAD NO IDEA WHY ON EARTH I WAS IN ANOTHER COUNTRY WITHOUT MY FAMILY.
He reminded me that that they missed me too, that I had been having fun until that moment, but that he knew I would continue to have a good time. He asked if there was anyone I could call and hook up with.
I remembered that Kerrianne had emailed me a few days prior and we had exchanged cell phone numbers. We had never met in real life before, but I considered her a true friend. I nervously called her to say hi and see if she was here yet.
She was checking in! And was planning to have dinner with Moose and Schnozz! (Who I had met the night before and love too!) I joined them, as well as Jenny, for a dinner at the Grand Cafe. We had a fabulous time and I felt like I had known these girls for years.
Fast forward a few months and Kerri’s hubby Chris wanted to plan an amazing surprise for their first anniversary. He and I conspired secretly and planned for them to spend two nights in Vancouver and two nights here.
We had Amanda and her family over for dinner so she and Kerri could meet and it was like Kerri had known us for years (which, I guess, she has, albeit mostly online).

Is it me, or is my hair a frighteningly bright shade of red?
We sent Chris and Kerri on a wine tour Sunday afternoon and met up with them for dinner at a restaurant on the lake.

We picked Salty’s not only for the stellar fare, but because Ari Neufeld was playing. I mentioned him in July when we had the girl’s night out in honour of Christy, but he deserves mentioning again. He is that good.
The four of us had a night full of non-stop conversation, divine food and amazing music. It was, dare I say, perfect.
Chris and Kerri love the Okanagan so much that they are extending their trip another day and spending a night at a B&B nestled among the wineries. It is that awesome here.
Now that they have left, I only have one question. Who else is going to come visit us?

ME! ME! ME!

Looks like great fun! I’d love to come up to the Okanagan again some time…
This weekend I’m finally meeting one of my bestest online friends. I’m so excited we’re finally going to meet up, but I’m a wee bit nervous as well. I know things will go great, as we are in contact in a myriad of ways on an almost daily basis, and have so much in common. I’m sure once my initial awkwardness wears off, we’ll have a fabulous time.

Is the red / pink shirt from Mexx? I almost bought a dress from Mexx with a really similar print.
I am headed to the Okanagan on Saturday! You’re more than welcome to join me and my sister at my brother’s hockey game, but only if you cheer for Penticton

I love The Christophr and The Kerrianne. I was secretly hoping part II of the anniversary trip included a flight down to Vegas so I could wine and dine them, as well. Or at the very least, get them drunk in a hip club
It’s looks heavenly where you live. I’ve only been to Vancouver BC, and various places in Alberta.

WHY DOES NO ONE LIVE IN TEXAS? It’s a big state. There should be more fantastic bloggers here.

Yes, hello. I would like to book a eleventy-five night stay at Angella & Matthew’s B&B. What’s that? We’ll get a discount if we watch the kids? Yes, we can do that. Nachos for Dinner after one-on-one Foto Fridays? Great! Angella dyes her hair red on Monday nights? Wonderful! Do I want the accounting package? Where Angella would teach me math? Yes, please.

The one and only bloggie gal I’ve met online was Aimee Greeblemonkey – and I was totally nervous about meeting her. But she was too Awesome. I love her.
There’s some Okanagan in Washington state too isn’t there? So that leads me to believe that maybe you’re not too far away for a nice drive. Maybe next summer me and my brood may drop in to say Hello.
Speaking of which – you’ll be down here in a couple weeks – maybe everyone can go do something fun for an afternoon.

Is it wrong to admit that I’m totally jealous because when I was in Portland the weekend before, Kerri was sick and I didn’t get to meet her; and then when I offered to come to Portland early before my flight the following weekend so we could meet for lunch, and she said she’d love to but it was her anniversary and her husband was planning a surprise get away; and then it turns out she couldn’t meet me BECAUSE SHE WAS MEETING YOU?
I guess if Kerri couldn’t come meet me, I am glad she got to meet you and have a fabulous anniversary weekend!
Also, I think it’s hilarious that for their anniversary weekend they went to meet other bloggers. That is so something I would do.
Also also, you are a redhead? Why did I not realize that?

Funny coincidence!
I think my hair is technically “auburn”, but it appears that my kitchen lights bring out the red
