This has been a very busy week over here at Dutch Blitz headquarters. The sun has been blazing and we’ve been spending every day at the beach. Lots of great memories have been made playing in the sand, swimming in the water and basking in the sun.
Oh wait. That was last week. And the week before that. Yesterday looked more like this:
It’s a little skewed because I took it as Matthew was trying to get by me to move stuff out of the rain/hail and then quickly clean the gutters out while dodging lightning bolts. Never a dull moment around here.
Instead of beachin’ it, I’ve been wiping green eye boogs, green nose boogs, and green (!) liquid poop. I think it would be safe to say that I am the Wiping Champion of the World. Just don’t ask me to wipe your bum.
The sun came out for awhile (not really…but the rain stopped) and we headed out after supper for a birthday party. Since we were all gussied up, I had Honey take a picture (or ten) of his girls. Here’s one of them:
The party was good (there’s a back story, but it’s not mine to tell). There were babies and kids everywhere. Do you remember when Emily last had a photo shoot with her three BFF’s way back in January? No? Here’s a reminder:
That’s Emily second from the left. It is now six months later. The girls were kind enough to include others in their circle of friends for the photo shoot. They’re not mean girls. At least not yet; give it a few years and I may have to make a retraction.
Emily is second from the left. It’s not an Anne Geddes shot, but it will do. They’re still all completely edible.
Someone had the great idea to get all of the older (walking, talking) kids on the couch to take another group shot. Here’s one of the pre-school set:
Nathan was all smiles (far left). Graham (third from the left)? What-evah Mommy. Also? Note how huge that kid is. He’s taller than my waist and is about half my weight. He’s definitely not a baby anymore. Sigh.
And here’s a final shot to strike fear in the hearts of Mommies everywhere. One baby. One balloon. Two teeth on the bottom, and two teeth on top (but only one of the middle ones; we’re going for the hobo look).
POP!
Kidding. I took the photo and then swatted the balloon away. My toes were tingling something fierce.
That’s enough blabbering. I have some more wiping to do while watching Matthew dodge lightning.

Yikes! That is a lot of rain! Crazy the summer rain storms of the interior, I remember some from when I was still in Salmon Arm.
Cute pics, it is so fun to get pictures of kids as they all grow up together.
Hope things dry up soon for you.

I love your rain! Bring some of it down here, will ya?
Glad you got to celebrate at your party!
Love the group shots on the couch.

I’m so glad everyone stuck around! Thanks for your help and love and support.

It is fun to look back at the group baby shots. We have some of when Delaney and Cory were 3 months old and now they are 8. Did you get your brown sundress at Old Navy? Looks remarkably similar to the one I have from there.
I did get it there. We must have the same great taste

Yikes…just a couple drops huh? I love the pictures of all the babies, I can’t believe they all sat there long enough for a decent picture…bravo! That is awesome that you have so many girlfriends with wee ones the same age as yours to grow up together. I have a ton of girlfriends from my church with babies and I love sharing this stage together. The balloon one makes me cringe, I HATE the sound of popping balloons…

Those are great kid shots to show their growth. The big kids look so old! And Megan looks SO MUCH like Christy at that age. Crazy.

Hey, it looks just like that here at our place!! After our huge storm, we had a few days of sunshine but today it was back to the torrential rain again. I should take a photo, huh?
Sounds like a fun birthday party though. You’ll be planning Emily’s one pretty soon!! WOW!

Sounds like the birthday party was quite the adventure! I love the pictures of all the kids. They will be so neat to look back on! I also love the one of you and Emily. Her expressions are so cute!

Aw, that’s a great picture of you and Emily
and I love all the kids lined up on the couch. We do that too and as long as no one is crying we consider it a success.

Cute pics!!! Nothing like summer storms, the rain photo is amazing… Phoebe was so petrified by popping balloons that we nearly had to give her a sedative before we went anywhere there were balloons. Needless to say her birthday’s have been balloon free up until last year.
Have a great weekend!! xx

Oh my, what is with the weather lately? Glad the party was salvagable – such a gorgeous group of kidlets! Cringing at the last photo of Emily…

It’s fun when the weather is actually something to talk about, although not at the same time…..The kidlets out there are all so adorable. What a super great idea to get the updated shot, it’s crazy how they’ve grown!
