As I was getting supper ready, Matthew grabbed his binoculars and peered through the bay window out the front of our house. It appears (Magnified!) that the family across the street purchased a shiny new quad (ATV). Honey was battling with Quad Envy until I reminded him that we have two (TWO!) four-wheeled contraptions. Four, if you count the two quads that the kids have.
No need to be greedy now.
The kids were all over the spying and the binoculars and took up where Daddy left off.
(This is my 30 Tiny Moments photo. Do you guys want to see them here, or should I just post them on Flickr?)
Are you glad you do not live in the house across the road from us? If you do move in, make sure you are fully clothed at all times.
***
When Uncle Lance got home we all sat down for supper. His t-shirt read “PUMA” and it is Graham’s favourite. Thanks to Dora’s cousin Diego Graham actually knows what a puma is. He asked Uncle Lance why his shirt said “PUMA”.
“Because it was made by the pumas.”
“Really? The pumas made your shirt?”
“Yes they did.”
“How did they make your shirt?”
“They used their claws, and they knit it in their shirt factory.”
Graham thought that was awesome. I did not set the story straight. Graham lives in imaginary land about ninety-five percent of the time.
Who am I to burst his bubble?
***
After supper we had our nightly dance-fest while cleaning up the chaos. Emily’s artist of choice is the amazing Justin Timberlake. She and I were shaking our tail feathers when Honey brought up the fact that he would love to see JT in concert. We had watched a concert of his on TV last weekend and it looked pretty high-energy and entertaining.
I confessed that I might have a tiny crush on Mr. Timberlake.
(Celebrity crushes are harmless. They are of the It-Would-Never-Be-A-Reality genre.)
Honey got the kids into their swim suits in preparation for a family trip to the hot tub while I finished cleaning up dinner (I got the better end of the deal for sure). I pondered our conversation and was reminded of that Friend episode where they discuss who would be on their “freebie” list.
When we got into the hot tub I talked to Honey about this and told him I felt a blog post coming on. I asked him who his top three celebrity crushes were. His answers:
- After yesterday’s Superbowl? Alicia Keys
- Angelina Jolie
- Jessica “question mark”. It is a toss-up between Jessica Biel, Jessica Simpson and Jessica Alba
My turn.
- Justin Timberlake. Duh.
- George Clooney
- I am taking the wild card approach, thanks to Honey. Matthew McConaughey and Matthew Fox.
I have not met a Matthew I did not like. Have you seen my husband?
Who are your top celebrity crushes?
(Feel free respond to parts one and two of this post instead, if you are lead.
I am a poet and did not know it…)

I have such a celebrity crush on the guy that played Denny from “Grey’s Anatomy”
SWOON.
We won’t talk about the time that I went vegan for a month out of my undying love for River Phoenix.
Ehem.

Comment by daybe on February 4th, 2008 @ 11:25 pmI definintely love seeing your photos, so I’m all for you posting them here.
Oooh - I love this! My top three celeb crushes would definitely have to be Brad Pitt, Larry Mullen Jr. (drummer for U2), and Johnny Depp.
Be still my beating heart! *swoon* Those men are guaranteed to make me swoon. Gorgeous!
By the way, you seriously need to see Justin Timberlake in concert if he ever comes out this way again. That man is so incredibly talented, it’s amazing! I saw him when he came to Vancouver in September, and holy crapola that was an awesome concert. Yes, the screaming teenaged girls almost deafened me with their shrieks, but it was a blast!

Hmm…celebrity crushes…well the biggest used to be Tom Cruise, and then he went crazy. I adore Brad Pitt, and like that he’s using his fame & money to try to do some good in the world. Also, now that he lives ‘just down the road’ from me, it could totally happen. Right? Riiiight.
If we can extend from ‘celebrities’ to ‘characters they play’ then I’m all about Ron Weasley. So cute. =)
ashpags’s last blog post..Itching for a change?
Comment by ashpags on February 5th, 2008 @ 6:43 amI’ve loved John Cusack since Better Off Dead.
Nathan Fillion is fantastic as Mal Reynolds in “Firefly” and Serenity, and from all reports he’s truly a nice guy off-screen. (And he’s Canadian!)
Bruce Willis will forever be David Addison to me.

Shelly’s last blog post..Things That Make Me Laugh….and Will Make You Laugh Too
Comment by Shelly on February 5th, 2008 @ 8:00 amHmmm. . . I have always loved George Clooney even before his ER days (when he was on the comedy show with the same title). I also really thought there was something about Harrison Ford when he originally played Indiana Jones. In addition to this there are some hockey players that I have had crushes on through the years. At one time we actually had some of the NJ Devil farm team living across the street. Let’s just say I loved sitting on the porch reading to see the views of the team there on non-game days! Nothing like hockey players washing cars with no shirts on!
TheAngelForever’s last blog post..An Election of Many Firsts
Comment by TheAngelForever on February 5th, 2008 @ 8:41 amDo we have to stay with living, breathing, YOUNG celebs? or can us old “geezers” go for the absolutely spectacular OLD celebs? PLEASE?!? Or, maybe some not-so-old..but definitely not babies!

Hills’s last blog post..Ice Ice Baby
Comment by Hills on February 5th, 2008 @ 8:51 amHmmm…. I think I would have to go with:
1. Matthew McConaughey - It all started with ‘A Time To Kill’. The man is dreamy in that.
2. Colin Farrell - He probably smells like beer and cigarettes, but I still find him incredibly attractive.
3. Christian Bale - He’s drool-worthy is so many different roles.
I think my husband would have that Jessica wild card too, he would include Jessica Alba in there too. I think he would also pick Salma Hayek, and I may have to include her as a celebrity crush myself because she is beautiful. ![]()

4. (this is going to be a combined effort for #4)…Patrick Dempsey, Justin Chambers, and the bomb guy from Grey’s Anatomy…those boys on Grey’s are easy on the eyes.
I just had this same conversation with D. It came about because we were watching Ocean’s (insert last movie number here). I had a great debate with myself over who was hotter…Brad, or George. ummm…I gotta go George but Brad’s a close second. Then there’s Richard Gere. Why do they get better looking with age? I guess I’m all over the ‘old guys’ too.

I have more than three, actually, and the husband is more than aware, and actually likes to fake pout every time one of their faces comes up anywhere. He’s hilarious.
1. Kevin Bacon
2. David Duchovny
3. John Cusack
4. David Boreanaz
5. Paul Walker (AH, I can’t help! it. Seriously.)
I also totally have girl celebrity crushes, too; women who I think are totally rad and amazing, and whose movies I will nearly always be first in line to see. But we can save that for another conversation. ; )
Also: There was a Matthew in my elementary school that ran around picking his nose and trying to wipe it on girl’s in P.E. (Come to think of it he went by “Matt,” and not “Matthew.” Heh.)
Also: I covet your hot tub.

My honey and I talked about this too and we have the “if this celebrity ever came onto us, it would be okay to have an affair” celebrity.
Because, like you said, it would NEVER happen.
Mine is Matthew Maccoughney. He’s just so hot.
I love your pic of the kids…I’ll have to remember that if I move to Canada ever, not to live across from you. I have an issue with remembering the clothes thing sometimes when I’m alone. ![]()

Well, Sean Connery was forever my celebrity crush; that is until I saw him interviewed and he had on a black silk shirt, unbuttoned to the navel (nearly) and chains. Then? Not so much.
Russel Crowe - I know he’s a jerk, but oh my he looks good.
Dennis Quaid - Seriously? The eyes and that smile? Melt-worthy.
