Three Posts In One

On BlogHer, Part Two

I have mentioned the fact that I am going to a wee conference in San Francisco called BlogHer this coming week (Three sleeps!), and that I get to be the Official Staff Photographer (Sharing the duty (Heh. I said duty.) with Arianne (Who is also a co-editor of mine over at Blog Nosh)).

The whole extravaganza is consuming my every thought, especially as it is getting so close.

(Three sleeps!)

It is making it hard for me to post about anything, because I remember how I felt when I found out I could not attend last year (Click on the link if only to see how CHUBBY Graham was! And how young Nathan and Emily were!)  I then sat here and pouted read about all of the fun! And Excitement! And the GOOD TIMES HAD BY ALL.

I would hate to make anyone feel bad by posting about all of my excitement, and nervousness, and the FREAKING OUT ABOUT WHAT TO WEAR.

However.  While I was bitter disappointed about the fact that I was not attending, I felt no ill will against those who did attend.  They wrote posts, and posted photos, and Twittered, and I was genuinely happy for them.  Just sad that I could not be there too.

So.  I am torn.  I want to write about what I am feeling (Excited! Nervous! A LITTLE BIT SKEERED!), but don’t want to make anyone feel bad.  I hate making anyone feel uncomfortable;  it makes me want to stick a fork in my eyeball.  I have been left feeling a little constipated, writing-wise.  Somewhat like this.

Huh

I know that those of you who read my measly site are good folk.  You encourage me when I am down, you cheer me when I have success, you get riled up when someone picks on me.  I know that you understand me, and will support me when I say the following.

I AM REALLY, REALLY EXCITED.  AND POSSIBLY SHARTING OVER MY EXCITEMENT.

I propped open my suitcase today as I was organizing my closet.  I started to toss in items of clothing, and before I knew it my suitcase was BUSTING AT ITS SEAMS.  What if I am in SF and need a particular item of clothing?  What if my shoes are not cute enough?  WHAT IS EVERYONE THINKS I SUCK?

I need to chill out a little.  Or a lot.

And yet?  Three more sleeps!  Woo!

The Day After

We spent the afternoon at the beach.  On the drive home we talked about random things and then Graham threw out this question:

“Mommy?  Do you miss Auntie Christy?”

I could only nod, as the tears choked me and I could not speak.

Remember these guys?

I talked to my Mom on the phone this morning. She told me that she was sorry that Christy was leaving, and was happy that I had hot friends.  She had a bone to pick, however.  And I quote, “I WANT TO SEE MAH GRANDBABIES”.

I have not taken many photos of them the past few weeks (Bad Mommy!), so I remedied that this afternoon.

G Force.

Miss Emily.

Miss Emily

Three of the cutest kids on the planet, if I do say so myself.

There you go, Momma.  It’s the least I could do for the woman who birthed me three weeks late, after two days of labour.  I owe you.

Now I need to go and figure out what I really need to pack.  Suggestions welcome.

I’m hitting the Superstore tomorrow for a cute yet affordable…something. Your shoes will be cute enough. Your clothes will be cute enough. You’ll forget all that when you arrive, I swear! So glad you’ll be there! I’m volunteering, too, but your job sounds much cooler than mine. heh

Cute kids, and great images!

As someone from SF, I’ll tell you what I tell everyone: LAYERS, LAYERS, LAYERS. It could be scorching during the day, then get frigid at night as the fog rolls in. You don’t want to get caught unprepared!

Have a wonderful time! I wish I could meet you!

Excited, nervous, a little scared… Ditto!

I’m also worried I’ll freeze to death! I looked at the temps in SF and that’s like winter here in Vegas! ;-)

Cute pics of the kids - I think those are my favourite pics of Graham & Nathan, they are just so cute. And Miss Emily is too, but you take so many cute ones of her ;-)

I’m sure you’ll have an amazing time in SF, and NOBODY WILL THINK YOU SUCK. If they do, I will have to come over and beat them up.

I hear you. I am scared to death because I now have a HUMUNGO cold sore on my face (NOT lip, FACE) and it is just going to make me feel all sorts of awkward.

That said…Soldier on and have a great time, right?

I am trying to pack light. I actually don’t think I”m going to change for 4 out of the 5 parties. Everyone says the amount of swag you have to bring back is tremendous.

You’ll have a great time. You know, if there is too much swag, etc., you could just ship it back since most airlines are charging out the butt for bags these days.

Have fun.

I was so jealous last year and have been talking non-stop about this year’s conference for months. I’m annoying like that.

Cute pics, as freaking always.

I’m wearing my 10-year-old $3 shoes from Mervyns because they’re the most comfortable heels I own, and I MUST BE COMFORTABLE. If you’re worried at all about your shoes, just hang out with me the whole time and you’ll look fabulous! :)

Can’t wait to give you a huge hug!

I’m obsessing slightly about what to pack, too. Now that I know and finally accept that the weather is nothing like Texas weather. Dang. I even bought a light jacket yesterday because I don’t even own a light jacket.

The kids are adorable! Just about as adorable as my kids. ;-)
