My head is all a’jumbled today, and I need a pick-me-up. Why don’t we go for a little comedic relief?
The Big Bangs? Courtesy of Joico’s Ice Mist.
The extra five (OK fifty) pounds? Courtesy of a nice mix of McDonalds, sour keys (and other candy), regular Coke…and the habit of eating iced tea crystals with a spoon.
Those curls? NOT a perm. All natural…and apparently back-combed. To match the bangs, of course.
The bangles? SO 1989.
The glasses? All the better to see you with, my dear.
I hope for Emily’s sake that she skips the ages five to fifteen awkward stage that I mastered so completely.
It’s OK to laugh. I’m laughing. Thought I’d spread the joy around.

It’s a good thing everybody has to look back and wonder, “What was I thinking?”! Great post!

I don’t even know if I’d recognize you ~ you’ve come a long way, baby!

YES!!
Totally and utterly awesome.
I LUV the glasses, the bangs, hoop earrings, the super-cool posed portrait.
Paige looks like me as a baby. And my running joke is that I apologize to her everyday for ages 4 – 14.
Iced tea crystals with a spoon, huh…?

Oh the 80′s -sigh. I am SO glad they are over!
The only bonus to having gone through the 80′s as kid/teenager is that we didn’t get married in the 80′s, that would have been WAY WORSE!!!! Really, REALLY BAD!!!!
*sorry to anyone married in the 80′s but seriously…*

Oh my. I had glasses JUST like those in grade 8. So cool!
[Reply]
Haha, that is FANATASTIC! I graduated only 6 years ago and I even look back and think what was I thinking???
[Reply]
There is no way I would have ever recognized you. I think we all had bangs like that at one point in the 80′s early 90′s.
[Reply]
Oh ya! Joico Ice Mist – hard as steel and and as high as they’ll go! That was a very scary time in fashion history.
[Reply]
My hair was equally as bad in grade nine. At least you got your awkward stage over with… I was stick thin back then and now not so much!
[Reply]
Dude, Ang, you were totally rockin’! That hair is totally tubular. I am in great envy of those bangs, the higher the better remember? You mastered it.
[Reply]
Sweet mercy. You just get better lookin’ with time.
[Reply]
If that hairstyle ever comes back in style (like bell bottoms – excuse me, BOOT CUT) like so many other things.
I.will.die.
You pulled it off well though. :~)
I’m laughing WITH, not AT, you of course!

I used to perm my hair to get it to look similar to yours in the picture. AND I had glasses just like those too (only mine were purple). Weren’t the late 80′s, early 90′s the coolest? [insert sarcasm here].
[Reply]
The funny thing is, I have a photo so close to yours! (minus the glasses). Did you also wear the blue mascara?
[Reply]
I think everyone has a picture like that hidden away somewhere! Gotta love the 80′s!
[Reply]
I totally had glasses like those, too. Only mine were GREEN. And I had a huge perm with one big roll of shellac-ed bangs. Nice.
[Reply]
I think you were kinda cute
[Reply]
HAHA!! Totally remember those days!! We ALL had those years Ang. I am laughing with you not at you
LOL!!!!
[Reply]
I have similiar photo of me, except I paid to get my fringe permed.
what the??
We are on the move over the next few days, I will be offline for a little while (oh how will I survive?)
Hope your work is going well!!
Take Care!

Love the hair, I too have one very much like that one of me. OH the 80′s
[Reply]
LOVE it!
[Reply]
I must have missed this post … only just seeing it now!
Hey, we all grew up in the 80′s … so we’re allowed to get away with a *few* mistakes! I had a spiral perm because I wanted hair like yours! LOL. Totally DIG those glasses
