The Thanksgiving Recap That Is Short On Words, But Long On Photos (aka A Post My Husband Will Read)
Date: Tuesday October 9, 2007Posted in: Emily, Family, Graham, Nathan
I’m going to try to be brief with the words because I am burnt.
We had a fantastic weekend. It involved a lot of food, family, and a lot of talking. I think I have used enough words to last me for the next month. OK. Maybe only until tomorrow. But still. I’ll be brief with the recap of the rest of the weekend we had besides the amazing reunion with my side of the family.
Thursday: We drove down to the Coast. Here’s the shot I took as we left the driveway:
Friday: Matthew and I headed across the border and did a whole lot of shopping sans kids. You may have seen my Flickr set (it’s public). Not much to say except that we had TWELVE HOURS OF UNINTERRUPTED CONVERSATION. ‘Nuf said.
Saturday: Matthew played football IN THE RAIN. I always wonder why I’m surprised that it rains in Vancouver. I lived there for six years. There is a reason that it is all lush and green: BECAUSE IT’S ALWAYS RAINING. That is why I live in the Okanagan (amongst a host of other reasons).
I also snuck away to my Dad’s on a solo trip to surprise my siblings who were all converging there for a hot dog and chili supper since everyone was in town. It was nice to get caught up without having to worry about wiping bums and cutting dinner into non-choking-sized pieces.
Sunday: See my last post.
Monday: We hung out with Matthew’s side of the family. Here come the photos!
We spent three hours at the coolest place. I had been there before I met Matthew with a big group of friends. He and I were also there three years ago with a newborn Nathan and a not-quite-two year old Graham.
It’s a big farm! With pumpkins! And animals! And stinky poop!
Basically? REAMS of fun for the kidlets.
And many an opportunity to take a photo (Or twenty. OK. A hundred.)
Here are four of the eight cousins looking at the animals in the petting zoo. We went in shortly after.
Here is sweet cousin Caleb (Isn’t he a DOLL?)
Here’s one that I took of him and his Momma Jennifer.
I lurve it.
Nathan and the baby goat (With Isaiah in the background)
Miss Emily had a sweet lamb take a liking to her.
She seemed to like the lamb too.
Matthew’s parents have eight grand babies. Graham (almost five) is the oldest and Anna…
…is the youngest (three weeks old!)
Here is a shot of the five oldest kids:
Nathan, Isaiah, Jacob, Graham and Caleb.
OK. BRACE YOURSELVES FOR THE CUTENESS.
Matthew’s sister, also a Jennifer, has two boys and now sweet baby girl Anna. Our four boys had a popcorn snack while waiting for the hay ride.
So. Cute.
Yep. Cute.
Huh. The cuteness ABOUNDS.
And still…CUTE.

We ended the day with another amazing dinner and an evening of laughs and great times with Matthew’s side of the family. Here’s a shot of the other side of our extended family.
No wonder my kids are so cute. Look at the gene pool they came from. Seriously.
That’s all I’ve got, except for the extras on Flickr. I have a billion loads of laundry to do. I also need to get ready for Miss Emily’s first birthday (Thursday!). I truly hope you enjoyed the above, because I SURE DID.

So happy to hear that ya’ll had such a wonderful Thanksgiving. There’s nothing to be more thankful for than friends, family and over the boarder shopping with a high canadian dollar!

Great photos. Those four boy cousins really look alike! And I am not at all surprised that there are two Jennifers…seems like there are always about five Jennifer/Jen/Jennys in every group of women our age. ![]()
