The Opposite Of NOT Posting Photos

I am home and with that means hours filled with family and…fun? Yes, fun.

When I was working on my last post, I realized that I had not taken many photos of my kids lately. I am a fan of taking photos in the outdoors. The lighting is so. much. BETTER!

It is now fall and fall = more days indoors. That, coupled with the fact that it seems as though I always have work to do on the sunny days meant that I have not taken many photos lately. Except for the photos I have taken for The Working Closet and the I Dress Like A Slob Every Day Flickr Pools.

But today was a new day!

First course of action. Signing with our baby. We were so diligent to sign with Graham and Nathan. With Emily…we have been negligent. I saw Kelly’s post last week showing photos of Chloe signing and I was hit by the fact that Emily did not know any signs. Not one.

Last night we thought we would get the party started. And? She picked them up in mere MINUTES. She’s so advanced, you know.

I pulled out the camera this morning to document her brilliance. Here she is signing “more”.

More!

And looking pretty proud of her bad self.

Her she is signing “all done”.

All done!

Yes, she eats naked. Don’t you?

Seriously, though…she rips off any and all bibs I place around her neck. So? To save myself on laundry? I just pull her shirt off before she eats. It works for us.

The photos were taken in the early hours, before the sun had decided to grace us with its presence. I’ve been playing in Lightroom, trying to decide what settings to use.

Matthew thinks colour is the way to go. Thus, I edited some photos using colour to demonstrate his point.

Here is Emily doing her favourite activity. Walking! (With assistance).

Walking!

Wheeeeeee!

Proud of her bad self

Yep. Pretty proud.

Nathan was having a grand time playing baseball with Daddy. Here he is, in all of his blue-eyed cuteness.

Nathan

And Graham?

Well, I took a bunch of photos of him as well. The one I liked the most was snapped at a moment when Matthew ran through the background. I dabbled in Lightroom, and I think his legs don’t stand out like they did in the original photo.

Graham

Man, Graham is a sweetheart.

I tried to keep as much colour in there as I could, but this was the best way to fade out Honey’s blue jeans.

But in my humble opinion? Sometimes black in white is so much more amazing than colour. Like so.

Miss Emily

Or maybe I’m just crazy-talking. That would not be a new development.

I love that photo of Emily at the end. She’s such a beautiful little girl and it looks to me (someone who doesn’t really know ya) that she’s got your eyes.
You’ve obviously found signing a great tool with your children other wise you wouldn’t have done it with all 3. We’ve been talking about it but are just wondering how that effects when they start talking? I understand you talk with the sign but I’ve got a cousin who’s little one learned to sign and then refused to talk. Did ya’ll run into that? Just curious.

I know a few people who had to take their kids to speech therapy, and therapists often use signing to encourage speaking :)

Great photos! I am amazed at the amount of technology you can absorb and excel at. I’m so slow that way. I think all the edits look amazing.

Gorgeous photos! Love the editing. Way to go Emily on picking up the signs so fast – she’s obviously as clever as her big brothers (and her parents).

Oh the little track suit, oh my! Why or why can’t I look that delicious in something like that?

Right, I have about 32 years on her…. excellent point.

Great pictures Angella, as always:-)

Hey, Emily already has one more than Chloe. When I do any other signs with her she cracks up like it is a game. More is the only one she will do, but even then, I don’t think she always knows the timing for More. Great photos, I have never used Lightroom, but I hear good things about it. I like the effects you can do with it. You are doing great with your “classes”….a pro in no time. You and Christy need to go into business. both of you have your own style, which is key, you want to find your niche with it so people look at a photo and go…now Angella did that or that has to be Christy. It is all in your editing taste.

I need to get Lightroom. I have Photoshop and Photoshop Elements, but not Lightroom. Easy to use and such?

Your photos are super cool!
Jayden picked up signing really fast too, but we didn’t do as many as with Ian because he insisted on saying the word all the time, so we just let him talk. ;) Ian used signs a lot more before he did much talking but Jayden’s a big chatter box and started talking more earlier. He still does the sign for ‘please’ everytime he says it though.

I am a big fan of black and white. I think that it can completely change the feel of the photograph and usually adds a lot more depth.

It’s an area I want to play around with a lot more.
