The Greatest Dad On The Planet

It’s Father’s Day (duh) and I couldn’t seem to get a good post idea formulated in my head. While talking to my Mom this morning she told me that she loved the video of the baby chick hatching. Then she said, “Matthew can do just about anything, can’t he?”

And thus a post was born.

Because he can do just about anything. Honey is pretty much the greatest guy on the planet, at least in my eyes. Not to knock the other great men out there…I just know that he’s the perfect man for me. And the perfect Dad for our kids.

I have espoused his greatness a number of times on here. There was his birthday post, our anniversary post, and my Mother’s Day post. Yes, I wrote about him on Mother’s Day. Why? Because he ROCKS THE CASBAH!

You all know that I have been crazy busy with work (only 4 days left!). We decided I would take on so many students because his work is slow during this time of year. He has taken over everything around here. Groceries, laundry, errands, cleaning…well, he’s always been better at that than me anyway. Then when the kids are sleeping he’s been doing all of the “guy” stuff: mowing the lawn, dealing with garbage and recycling, etc. Then there is the garden he has planted and the whole chicken hatching thing.

I married up, folks.

He’s such a good Daddy too. He’s always been a hands on Dad – from Day One. Some guys are awkward with babies, but not Honey. He was always there to give me a break – give a bottle, change a bum, rock the baby to sleep. He still changes bums, does bath time, plays with the kids outside…

The funny thing about him? He is so good at the “sensitive” side to parenting, yet there is nothing feminine about this husband of mine. He would never be called a “metrosexual” (I’m giggling at the sheer thought of it), and he is ALL man. He can fish, quad, play basketball and paint ball…and can also comfort a crying child.

I’ll say it again – HE’S THE BEST!

If the boys turn out to be even half the man that their Daddy is, I will be proud. If Emily marries a man anything like her Dad, she will be called blessed.
