Until we are OUTTA HERE!
The babysitter is coming at 4:30. By the time we get her up to speed on the nightly routine, it will be about 4:45 and we will be driving away. Far, far away.
The plan is to go for a nice dinner, and then do some shopping. We both have some gift certificates to spend. Matthew also got me some workout gear for my birthday. He wasn’t sure what I wanted exactly, so he just bought me some stuff so that I would have something to open. I’m pretty sure he would have had a hard time buying me a sports bra anyway. So, I plan to return what he got me and get what I really need.
Now if only I could find the time to actually work out…
This is the first time we are leaving Miss Emily for an extended period of time with someone other than one of us. Even though this is the third time through this “first”, I am still a little nervous. She’s my baby, after all.
I know it will be fine. Our babysitter is 19 and has been our sitter since, well, Graham was a baby. The boys are easy, and once they’re in bed, she’ll only have to focus on Emily. Emily is the wonder/happy baby, and loves taking a bottle, and hardly cries, but I know I’ll still be nervous driving away…
But not nervous enough to cancel. I NEED a night out with Honey. The last time we went out by ourselves was in SEPTEMBER. When I was still pregnant. That was almost FIVE months ago. The two of us have been giddy all week at the thought of some alone time, and that giddiness is overriding my nervousness.
We want to start making a concerted effort to have a “Date Night” at least once every two weeks. We just need to get this initial outing over with so that I can stop worrying that Emily will be traumatized for life/the house will explode/ the boys will disown us.
Actually, they LOVE it when we get the babysitter because she has three brothers and knows how to get down and play with boys.
So.
The kids will be fine. The babysitter will be fine. And Matthew and I will be FANTASTIC!
At least that’s the plan. Happy Friday everyone!

And good times were had by all.
Have A GREAT EVENING.
My boys have gone in to the Giants game you got them tickets for.
Fun, fun everywhere.
Love, Mom xoxo
