Stripped

Posted in: Pregnancy

Well, folks, I just returned from my appointment. Here’s what happened:

The baby has dropped.
:)
I’m already 3 centimetres.

!

She stripped my membranes.

:l

If that doesn’t get labour started, we are to be at the hospital at 7:30 tomorrow morning. Waters will be broken, and if that doesn’t work, drips will be started.

:0

She told me that there are a lot of deliveries going on, so we may get a call postponing us going in. She also said that the stripped membranes usually start labour within 24 hours, and it often happens in the middle of the night. So…we could be going in today or tonight, and then they’ll have to take us.

Depending on how it all goes down, I will either update when we get back, or my dear friend Amanda will come on here and fill you in. I gave her the login deets to my site, to make sure you all know what’s going on if it takes us awhile to get back.

If you are immediate family, etc., you will hear by phone call long before it’s posted here. We’ll make sure you don’t hear via the Internet.

For the rest of you, we’ll get you up to speed shortly thereafter. Pray for us, think of us, and here’s to meeting Baby D!

I am so thrilled for you!! I’m also very curious how you got your doctor to induce you early. Mine made me wait til the bitter end when the babies were practically large enough to walk out on their own. I will definitely be praying for you and wish you many happy beginnings with your new baby.

I can’t wait to hear the news! I can’t believe you’re already 3 cm and still just walking around like nothing’s happening. I think it took me about 24 hours of labour to get to 3 cm! And it HURT! :)

I’m all goosebumped! This so exciting. I hope it’s tonight and you can skip the whole induction thing. :) :)

Hope you come in on your own because it is busy here at work. This is the 1st chance I have had to check to see how this am went. We have had 2 babies already today and only one private room left. Hope to see you here in the am!!! Good luck if I happen to miss it tonight.

How exciting!! I can’t believe it is really happening, it seems like only last week that you posted you were pregnant!! I hope you go into labour naturally, that would be much easier than induction :-)

Dad just phoned and asked why I sounded disappointed!

A little more than we need to know, but we all need to be educated LoL. Since I’m just a male, this is mixed company and won’t comment any further on this. I was brought up as a gentleman. Now the baby is here, I hope you took care of it, and may I ask you used epideral or au naturel? Can’t understand why some women in labor don’t feel or remember pain? They did some trick to forget it, but nobody I know of forgets pain. If I wanted kids someday, expect me to wait or stay by her (wife’s) side (and have her tell me “it’s my fault” and throw a pillow at me). Bye for now.+
