Springing

If you stopped by and saw the mosaic I had in the banner, it’s because something exciting is happening over here. An Internet friend of mine graciously offered to make a banner for me, so I was trying to figure out how to get an image up there. After a few unsuccessful tries…I did it! I did it! I did it, hooray! I still have a LOT to learn about HTML though.

Another sweet Internet friend saw my mosaic and offered to make me a banner as well. Both of these women are Americans. I hereby apologize for any and all American jokes I have made in my life. Americans rock!

Last night was a date night for Honey and I, thanks to his parents coming over to watch the kids. We headed out for a good dinner and did a bit of shopping. It was much needed.

This past week, as part of my spring cleaning, I took boatloads of old clothes to the thrift store. My closet is nicely organized and I noticed a common theme. There is a lot of brown…and black. And a few pieces of white. Oh, and blue jeans. Most of my shirts are of the t-shirt variety, both long and short-sleeved. Pretty lame and boring, but at least everything matches.

When Honey and I went shopping the last time, I branched out and bought one of those fitted polo shirts. In brown. But it has blue stitching and I layer it with a blue tank top. Go me.

This week I was at Wal-Mart and bought a $3 t-shirt. Yes, a t-shirt. But it’s PINK! Last night, I bought another fitted polo shirt, but it a nice, bright, robin’s egg blue! With yellow stitching! And a yellow tank top! Look at me go!

Not only that, but I’m branching out in the makeup department. I wear a lot of brown makeup: mascara, eyeliner, lipstick (taupe-y). I went to MAC to get a new lipstick in my favourite taupe-y shade and it’s discontinued. Not cool enough for MAC I guess. So, I bought a new taupe-y lipstick with a hint of…wait for it…pink! I’m a wild woman.

I got home last night to an email with THREE samples of a new banner, and rumours of a fourth. Decisions, decisions. They’re all so fantastic and creative. I’m giddy. And torn.

I need to dabble some more in HTML to make sure that my new banner will fit, so excuse the look of my site while I try to learn something. I’ll probably just email Tina in a panic at some point. Keep your eyes peeled for the big reveal!

**Edited to add: I put another mosaic up there for the time being. My kids are far cuter than an “under construction” banner.

  1. I saw your banner last night and thought it looked great.
I find I wear a lot of brown white and black as well. I always try to venture away from it but somehow my wardrobe always ends up the same.
