I was tagged by Little Miss Mel to post seven random facts about myself. This took a bit of thought, as I have done posts with a similar theme before. But you know me – always up for a challenge! Hence, I’m working about a hundred hours a week right now and still somehow managing to post this.
On that note (the blog one) I’m not ignoring y’all; I’ve just been crazy busy with work. Yesterday was a doozy. And today? It’s looking to be about the same.
Despite (because of?) my work overload, I dashed away on Saturday for an afternoon and evening with my Honey. Here we are all giddy to get the heck outta here.
Look at my hunka hunka burnin’ love. And me! In a picture! That I didn’t take! Will wonders never cease?
Back to the seven random facts.
Here are the rules… Each person tagged gives 7 random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs the 7 facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and to read your blog.
Here goes!
1. I don’t have a passport. Never have. When we went to Mexico on our honeymoon seven years ago, all we needed was our birth certificates. Those crazy Americans have recently toughened the rules, and as it stands I could not fly to the USA right now. Of course, now that I’ve typed that all I want to do is get on a plane to California. Starting in January, we’ll need passports to even drive across the border. Passports are on my “to do” list after my current contract is over.
2. I don’t have any tattoos. Don’t really want any, either. I used to have a nose ring. I had it done three times, actually. Each time it would keep getting infected. Nothing like a pulsing (and pussing) red bulb on your nose to make you feel pretty hideous. I would eventually have to take it out and let it heal. I was sad to give up on the dream of a cute little sparkle on my nose, but lucky me! I have a scar to show for all of my suffering.
3. I have never done drugs. Ever. I’ve never smoked a doob (ganga, pot, etcetera). We all know that I like my daily occasional glass of wine (or martini, or margarita…), but I’ve been drug-free since 1975. Caffeine (in Diet Coke form) is my drug of choice.
4. I don’t read blogs written by men, generally, unless they are related to me. No offense to any male readers. Though I’m pretty confident that my Dad is my only male reader, based on the fact that 100% of the comments I receive are from women.
The reason for my shunning of the man bloggers? I wouldn’t want to build an online friendship that might not honour Honey. I look at it the other way around. What if Matthew was a reader of blogs, and started leaving comments on another woman’s blog to the tune of, “What a witty post! You’re so funny! And smart! And pretty!”?
I might take issue with that. Then I’d have to find out where this woman lived and leave a flaming bag of poo on her doorstep. I don’t have time for that. Neither does Honey if the situation were reversed. So? I stick to reading the blogs o’women.
5. I would like to buy a street bike. I owned a little Ninja back in the day that I sold to help us pay for our wedding. I kept my jacket and helmet. I will ride again…
6. I can’t type. Seriously. I don’t know how to type properly by using all of my fingers and not looking at the keys. I type with a few of my fingers, and I look at the keys half of the time. Pretty crazy, considering I write cases and exams for a living, never mind the verbal diarrhea that I spew on this site. Maybe in my free time (ha!) I should play one of those video games that teach you how to type.
7. I have carried three babies to term, and I didn’t get a single stretch mark on my belly. Don’t hate me! I have more than enough stretch marks on my ladies to make up for it. You can’t go from a double A (that’s smaller than an A-cup) to a D-cup when your milk comes in like a flood without a little damage.
Now who to tag? I never know who likes these and who doesn’t. So. I will tag people I know who love lists. If you don’t want to play, I won’t be offended.
I tag: Meg, Hannah, Kami, Kaili, Julie, Lisa and Dayna (when you get back).
I’m hoping I can actually find some time to go and tag you today. This working gig just might kill me.
Did you learn something new about me? Did any of the above make you smile? I could use a little encouragement, dudes. I’m feeling a little overwhelmed over here. Plus, if you’re nice, I’ll post a cute video for you.

As always loved your post Angella!!! You know I think you are “Super Mom” Time to put on your cape and make it through the work load, you really are amazing how you seem to do it all with you humour in tact!

Good luck in getting trough your day, I know you’ll make it!

That’s a great reason to shun the man bloggers. So good to keep all that nice marriage stuff in line!

Great random facts but sorry, after having only carried two babies and having many stretch marks on both my tummy and my “ladies” I am envious!
I am sure your students are appreciating all your hard work, ’cause I know they have the best facilitator! You go girl:-)

Hey Angella – I don’t type properly either and it’s pretty much all I do all day long! Weird eh? But, I noticed you are a very good speller, and hardly ever make typos! Good for you!

Great post, Angella!! I’ve actually already done this tag (a few weeks back) so I won’t do it again … I’m not sure I could think of 7 more things!! LOL.
Typing is pretty easy to learn, I took typing at high school (when I was 13) for only 6 months and I have never forgotten how. I type at about 70wpm with 99% accuracy. I have to type all day long, since I’m a writer! But if you type a lot then you’ll get the practice, after you’ve learned the basics (like which fingers to use on which keys) you’ll never forget!

Oh, and I loved the bit about not reading men’s blogs. People might think it’s crazy, but I say you’re a wise woman, Ange. Like the Proverbs 31 woman. YEAH BABY!!

Thank you for being such a sport. You never know, these lists could be like getting the same forwarded email for the 100th time asking you to do something within 10 minutes or a bag of stinkin poop will land on your front porch. (SNL this week?)
So, I thank you for not making me look like a bloggin loooser.
I did learn some good stuff. Me love Diet Coke too. mmmm

Angella, you ALWAYS make me smile. I better get to work on that post…

I never really learned how to type the “real” way either! My typing style is like some strange hybrid piano playing. It was fairly scary when I got my first big job, I worked in customer support at a big high tech company. I had to not only type FAST, but I also could not lose any valuable information as I looked at my fingers. My mind had to split in two. Totally scary. Because of that, I can type really fast, but I don’t use proper technique.

That was fun! It’s always interesting learning more about other people! The picture of you and Matthew is awesome!

Ahhhh, I’m back to reading blogs. I’ve missed reading yours. You never let me down. Now if only I had what it took to do my own post…

I used to read man blogs… but ended up reading their wives instead (men who blog tend to have wives who blog – or at least any man who’s blog I read did). That’s how I ‘met’ jenny (creamofpotatosoup.com) who I’ve been reading for four years now. I find the women more interesting and less likely to go on and on about some gadget that I’m not interested in because we can’t afford it!

Hey Angella,
Hee hee … another great post. I did learn more about you.
Let me know when you get the itch to buy another street bike … my hubby might have one for you!

Angella, I love what you wrote about not reading other men’s blogs – that really resonated with me. Your kids are extremely super cute. They are such “schaatjes”!!!! Have a super day!!!!!
