The past few days have been blissfully free of work. Not blissful, unless you think that packing up three kids for two trips a day to the beach is blissful. The toys! The snacks! The sand!
For the love of all things, THE SAND!
Don’t even get me started on the heat. I would say that it is “hotter than Hades”, but I do not know the temperature in Hades. If it is this hot? I’m pretty glad I’m not going there.
On to brighter subjects!
I have this friend Amanda. You may or may not know her. If you don’t know her, you are missing out. She is the person who clued me in to what a weblog even was three summers ago. I owe her my life. Or at least my first born son.
She could use him anyways. She is due with girl number two ANY DAY NOW.
(I Kid! I love Graham! He’s just five…)
The very first time I laid eyes on Amanda was when her engagement to Steve was announced at church. They stood up to aid in the announcement. Karen leaned over to me and said that they looked like they were just out of high school.
Turns out that was exactly the case.
However many years later (too lazy to figure it out), we have become great friends. Steve and Matthew talk manly talk about quads and hunting and fishing. Amanda and I talk girly talk about boobs and lack thereof. It is awesome.
My great friend had a birthday. Usually us girls all get together for the birthdays. They are fun, and wonderful, and all of that nonsense. The problem is that you only get to talk to the few people at your corner of the table.
Amanda is NINE MONTHS PREGNANT, so we kept it on the down low. Just her and Steve, Honey and I, and Tamara and Brian. We had a lovely dinner at the Pasta Factory and then wandered down to the lake. It was the time of the “magical light”, so this photo crazy girl herded everyone onto the big dock for photos. We started with Amanda and Steve.

Awwww.
Then I told them to look at me.

Um, Steve? Want to look happy or something?

That’s better.
Then we have Tamara and Brian.

The hotness! It burns!
I forced them to take a photo of Matthew and I. Well, I forced Honey to cooperate. Whatever.

Not bad.
We thought we should get a photo of us three girls. I handed Honey my camera and after much fighting fiddling, he shot this one. It is hilarious on so many levels.

In case you were wondering, we did not plan ahead to all dress in black. It seemed to work for us though.

I have beautiful friends. Not only are they stunning, they crack me up ALL THE TIME.

Case in point.
It was a great night. Filled with good friends, tasty food, and lots of laughs.
I have no complaints.
Except for the sand. And possibly the heat.

The photo of the three of you is hilarious!
Want some of our winter? I’m willing to share

Looove all of the pictures! Thanks for taking them! I haven’t looked at the ones on my camera yet but they are almost guaranteed to be mostly blurry. I really need to learn how to use my camera. And hahaha it really does look like Amanda is staring at my boobs (or lack thereof)!

I seriously swear that there is something in the water up there that creates hot women. (We have discussed this before).
You all look like a magazine photo shoot.
