Rock N’ Roll

I’m sorry I haven’ t been making my usual rounds, but I’ve been busy (so unusual, I know) and I don’t want to be spending time surfing when I can be spending time with my Mommy. She just went to bed and I had to share the breaking Miss Emily news.

(I drafted this last night. I was able to log in, but couldn’t save my entry. I’m so glad that I copy my entries into Word before I hit the “Save” button.)

She has rolled over before, but couldn’t get that one arm out from underneath her. Apparently the presence of Nana has prompted her to burst out with new skillz.

Normally Emily will roll over on her left side and scootch around in a circle whilst staying on her back. Today was a day of craziness!

She rolled over on her left side and managed to get right onto her tummy!

Not only that…

She then rolled from her tummy to her back!

Not only that…

She decide to mix it up and rolled onto her right side and then onto her tummy.

Not only that…

While on her tummy she’s moving around. Forward, backward…around in circles!

Just a reminder; she’s only 4 months old. I’m in awe of my baby girl.

Graham rolled over at five months of age exactly (when they’re supposed to)…and maybe rolled once after that. He never crawled, but walked just before his first birthday.

Nathan rolled over at one week (a total fluke – he was squirmy) and then not much until he started to crawl at nine months of age. He also started walking just before his first birthday.

“They” say that subsequent children start crawling, etc. faster because they want to follow their older siblings. Emily is ON THE MOVE. See for yourself:

My mom thinks she’ll be crawling soon. I don’t know if that will be the case, but I’ll be sure to keep you posted. Literally. Unless of course I can’t log in ever again.

  1. aawww! I love how she was sucking her thumb! Too sweet. It is funny when you havent had a baby for a while, how you forget their little movements. She didnt even get her arm stuck when she rolled over. That was our kids problems. That darn arm was always stuck.

  14. Sooooo cute! (I tried to make my little girly suck her thumb, because I thought it would be cute. She never did. Soooo cute little EMily!)

My crazy kid did also crawl the day before she turned 6 months (brag, brag). Rolling over was really not long before that! Look out! And good for you for remembering each kidlet’s milestones!

  19. Way to go Emily. Jillian never rolled over, crawled, or walked until after she was one. She’ll probably be an early crawler. Looks like you are going to have your hands full soon.
