Reboundin’

Hi! Or Hola! as Dora and Diego would say.

Did you miss me?

I know you’ve probably been lying awake at night, wondering what could possibly be going wrong over here that I haven’t posted in TWO WHOLE DAYS.

Nothing is wrong at all, my friends. In fact everything is just fine. More than fine, actually, because SPRING has arrived! We all know how much I hate winter. It’s been sunny! And warm! And we’ve been OUTSIDE!

Being outside means I can’t also be on the computer. Unless I was like that new chick on Heroes who can surf the ‘Net with her mind. Could you imagine the multi-tasking possibilities with that ability? Not only could I surf, I could create lists! And spreadsheets! And be the uber-organized woman that I was destined to be!

Except I’m supposed to be making sure the boys don’t drive their quads off the embankment, or drown in the fish pond. Oh yeah. But I still dream of the multi-tasking possibilities.

Along with spring comes the spring cleaning. I sent laptop to our computer guy because she was getting slow and overheating. Not good. But he cleaned out some dust and did some computer tech clean-up stuff, and now she’s doing just fine. I’ve been spring cleaning the house as well. Bags of stuff have been taken to the recycling depot and dropped off at the ladies’ auxiliary.

Thanks to all of this spring cleaning, I haven’t had much chance to get outside and walk. Or fartlek (hee hee). I told you that I haven’t run much since having the kidlets. Part of it is due to logistics (being pregnant, than having newborns, then trying to FIND THE TIME) and part of it is due to my bad knees. I had surgery when I was twenty, and that helped for many years. Lately they don’t seem to take well to high impact activities. This sucks because I like high impact activities.

This morning while watching the news, we saw an ad for these:

I thought that they were the perfect solution for me. They are supposed to lessen the impact on your body, while still letting you get a good workout. Honey laughed and thought I was crazy. Nothing new, of course. He thought that the sight of me bouncing down the road would give our neighbours a good laugh as well. He’s got a good point. Except I could wear them in the yard when outside with the kids and could run with ease. I might also get a glimpse of what it’s like to be Graham (He bounces with excitement all. day. long.)

I’ve had the Boundin’ tune in my head all day (the short that comes on the Incredibles DVD). Bound, bound, bound, bound and rebound…

I just might have to go try on a pair. I’ve arranged a date night for Honey and I tomorrow (his birthday is coming up) and maybe we should hit a sporting goods store. I still need to get workout gear as well. Then I could wear the gear, wear the rebounders, and be a fitness machine! I could even try them around the house, but then I’d probably do what Amanda did at my house today.

So that’s it, folks. Just busy being outside and spring cleaning. Spring always makes me want to change my template, so I might play with that a bit too.

Any thoughts on those rebounders? Are they a good idea, or will they end up in the shed with my roller blades and bicycle? Sigh.

  1. They look like moon shoes! I think you should give them a try. I’ll pass, though. My klutzy tendencies would reign supreme. Steve thinks we should sue. :)
    (Totally kidding, of course!)

  2. Oh dear I’m sooooo far behind with my blog reading. I think you should get the rebounders purely for entertainment value. Besides you KNOW your kids will get use out of them even if you don’t :)

  3. Angella, if you do get them, you have to post a picture of yourself boundin around in them!
I think I would break my ankle.

  4. Weeeell, they DO look a little strange, but I’m sure everybody will be wearing them soon enough … that is usually the way!

Glad to hear you have nice weather over there. Our summer appears to be over :-(

I have actually tried those shoes. It was definately a fun experience but I personally wouldnt want to use them all the time. They make you jump up super high and you would need a lot of space to use them. It is worth the experience to try though!

  6. Glad to hear you are back to outdoor play… I cannot imagine how hard it must be to entertain children INDOORS all winter… And your jumpy shoe idea sounds good in theory, only one way to find out…. Have a great weekend! x

  7. Glad you are having spring, our week started out that way, warm, snow almost gone….. then Mother Nature decided that was enough pity and it snowed buckets two days ago.

I am going to actually enjoy Van’s rain :-)

  8. I LOVE that Boundin’ short!

I’m happy you’re finally getting spring up there in the tundra. It’s been a long time coming. Plus–cute dresses and bloomers for Emily!

  10. I’ve seen those on TV but didn’t know you could actually go buy them yet since they seem so futuristic. Do try some on, go for a run, then let us mere mortals know how people will be jogging ten years from now!

  11. Those actually frighten me a bit…I’m a little too tall and not quite graceful enough to pull those off. I’m afraid I would be shouting “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” flat on my face in the grass!

Yay for Spring=) We are starting to experience some warmer temps here too. Down with winter!!

  12. just promise, if you should ever try them on, that you will have the store sales person photograph you so that you can show us all! Now THAT would be a great post! (now that i’m thinking about it… a movie might be better. Bounce Bounce!)
