Our Easter Recap

We managed to get everyone fed, dressed and ready for church. We were cutting it close time-wise, but I managed to take a bunch of shots of the kids on the couch before we dashed out the door. Here’s one of all three smiling (somewhat):

Church was great. Emily did amazing, especially considering she was missing a nap. She got passed between the ladies in the row behind us and only managed to chunk on one of them. Awesome.

The boys were with us for the first little bit before going down to Sunday School. I had Nathan on my hip while we were singing. He would put his hands on my face and turn it so that I was looking into his eyes. He would then say repeatedly, “Stop it. Stop it! STOP IT!!!” That kid does not like singing in any way, shape or form. Or maybe I’m really that bad.

We got home, fired Emily into bed and took the boys outside for their very first egg hunt! I bought some of those plastic eggs and put a small chocolate egg in each of them.

Yes, I dressed them the same. It’s my right as their Mommy. I’m pretty sure they won’t let me do it when they’re teenagers.

They had so much fun! And looked pretty cute to boot.

When Emily woke up we took some pictures of her in her purty Easter dress. Here is one of my favourites:

How cute is SHE? Sigh.

Here she is proving that she hasn’t quite mastered the art of sitting unassisted:

Bottoms Up!

She’s close though. That’s the stage I love – sitting unassisted, but not yet crawling. The baby’s happy, and Mommy is happy.

More pictures on our Flickr site. (If you can’t see the pictures of the kids, just add me as a contact. I’ll add you, we’ll shake hands and curtsy, and then voila! You can see my pictures!)

Easter and spring are all about new beginnings. In honour of that, I thought it was time to showcase another one of SAJ’s lovely banner creations. Look up. Look way up. It kind of matches Emily’s dress.

It was just the five of us for Easter, and we kept it pretty low key. We did an impromptu Slurpee run in the afternoon (first one of the year!), and just enjoyed the warm sunshine. Graham had made a craft at Sunday School that was a cross. He kept referring to it as Jesus. We told him that Easter meant that Jesus wasn’t on the cross anymore. He said, “I know. I’m just pretending.”

“Jesus” then spent to day with Graham on his adventures. For example, “Look, Mommy! Jesus is riding my quad!” “Jesus” had a busy afternoon.

The clouds blew in around dinner time, so we stayed inside for the evening. I bought the “Happy Feet” DVD the other day since we didn’t really get to watch it when we ventured to the movie theater with our three kids in November. Being the somewhat intelligent woman I am, I don’t know why we even tried taking three kids under four to the theater. Maybe so I’d have something to post about?

That’s it folks! It was a great day. Good times had by all. Now it’s back to work (for me) while Honey is on Daddy duty (Hee hee…I said duty). He’s playing with his new vacuum as I write this.

We’re going to give the kids their Easter baskets from us today (they had other ones from Grandma and Grandpa). It’s a chocolate fiesta over here.

I may or may not have stolen shared some of their candy. What? As if you don’t do it too. They really don’t need that much sugar. Neither do I, but I can’t seem to stop myself.

Happy Easter Monday everyone!

Sounds like you guys had a wonderful Easter. The kids look adorable. You’re lucky Matthew LETS you dress the boys in matching clothes. Rob doesn’t like it AT ALL, and complained enough about the matching Happy Feet t-shirts (that I didn’t even buy them!!) even though the rest of their outfits weren’t the same. SIGH.

  11. The children look beautiful Angella. I always said I would not dress my two the same but I can’t help myself, they look SO cute in matching outfits. And little Emily, love the tights and shoes, how cute!!!
I ‘quality’ control the eggs in our house too, I wouldn’t want them eating chocolate that wasn’t tested first!!!
Glad you had a happy Easter too… xx
