Recently, I have taken my love of multi-tasking to a whole new dimension. You see, little Miss Emily nurses every few hours for about a half hour or so at a time. This is time that I could spend watching daytime T.V., but we all know that most (not all) shows that are on during the day suck. Plus, I need the T.V. to help me entertain the boys while I fulfill my milk cow duties.
Instead of watching Dora and Diego along with the boys, I position myself at the kitchen table in front of my laptop. I have become quite adept at typing and clicking with one hand (even my left!). It’s slower, yes, but a better alternative to watching Treehouse.
Christy told me this week about a sweet site called Shutterfly. It’s an online service that you can use to make Photo Books amongst other things. You pick a colour/layout theme, upload the pictures you want to use, and drag and drop your pictures where you want them to go. You can add captions with another click of the button. All this for a low cost. I got one album done in just a few nursing sessions. That means one more person crossed off of my Christmas list. Check!
It’s also a simpler form of scrapbooking…I told you I’d start. Once I have the use of BOTH hands for longer intervals, I’m sure I will attempt the real deal.
Then this morning I got an email from Sarah D. She was typing out a bunch of recipes for a church cookbook, and thought that since she had typed them all out she would forward them to me to post on Recipe For Disaster. They look absolutely amazing, and I will be experimenting with them this week. I managed to get them all posted during Emily’s last feeding. Check it out.
Now she’s sleeping (and both hands are free!), so I’m going to continue working on her birth announcements…they WILL be done someday. Happy Saturday everyone!

Good for you! Learning new tricks is fun:)
Happy one handed surfing

Glad that you could use some more recipes…I’ll have more coming! I totally use Shutterfly. I also have used Ofoto (Kodak) which has Canadian prices, and made some wicked calendars on there for Christmas gifts. I have ordered cards (thru Shutterfly) with black&white pics of Liam on them, and used them for thank you cards right after he was born. I have albums made on both sites, but have yet to order them. Definitely my choice of scrapbooking.

There was a lady at our craft night on Friday with a digital scrapbook…and oddly she actually sells Creative Memories! I think it’s the new wave…it’s just so much easier and the quality is there too.
