I mentioned on Thursday that I may not post for a few days. The reason I said (Typed?) that is not for you. It is for me.
You see while this site is mine…an extension of myself, really…sometimes I feel like it has a life of its own. I worry that if I do not post about (or take photos of) the goings-on, then it will be like they never happened. And that means I would have failed my family! There would be no record of the daily life! They will disown me! And probably be scarred for life! Oh, THE PRESSURE.
Then I contemplate blowing up my site (on purpose). I know that that is just CRAZY TALK, because I would would feellike I lost a part of myself. Or would I? The debate rages on…
It really is ridiculous what goes on in this head of mine. You truly have NO IDEA. I do not want to get too busy documenting life that I neglect to actually live life. To make sure that does not happen, I set boundaries in my mind. On Thursday, I told myself that I would not write a post until at least Sunday (Unless something happened that would not stay contained in this brain of mine. See the side blog! My cousin is in a Nissan commercial!) So here we are. It is Sunday, and I have had a fantastic past three days.
Friday was sunny and HOT. I was stuck inside working (Boo!) so that we can have money to buy groceries (Yay!). Matthew’s parents came up for the day to play with the Decepticons kids. They have not seen each other since we went to Mexico, and the kids were pretty excited about the visit. Emily had a great day of bonding with Grandma.
Grandma’s Dad (Matthew’s Grandad) had found this cute Jean skirt (Made by Guess!) at the thrift store and sent it along for Emily.
She loves it. But would not stop RUNNING so I could take a decent photo of it.
I did not mind all of the running as I thought it would help “get things moving”. The girl spent most of the day labouring on a poo THAT DID NOT MATERIALIZE. Poor girl. Sigh.
She looked adorable in the skirt though, even if I do say so myself.
Finally. A still shot.
She may or may not have been pushing.
Back to Grandma’s lap.
After supper everyone sat in the shade of the tree and made Lego creations.
My sister Dayna arrived Friday night (and is still here). The kids LOVE Auntie Dayna and she has been getting her fill of auntie lovin’. On Saturday afternoon she and Lance kicked us out of the house so that we could go on a date afternoon/evening. Honey was opposed to getting our photo taken (Shocking, I know.), but I thought I needed to document a very momentous occasion.
I wore leggings.
Yes. Yes, I did.
Once we were out and about I actually felt quite hip and stylish. And skinny. Which helps when you are trying on summer clothes. Let me just say that it was a very productive shopping day.
Honey and I went to a popular pub for dinner. We sat out on the deck (in the shade) with a view of the lake. It was loverly. I pretended to take a photo of the cool bricks and window on the outside of the building…
…in order to snap a photo of Matthew.
Love you, Honey!
The kids had a great time while we were gone, but were happy to have us back. Especially Emily. She needed her labour coaches to assist her in birthing yet another HUGE, ROCK-HARD POOP. Poor girl. Sigh.
We’ve tried a few of your tips, and are going to try a few more. With my luck, this means that one day when we are out running errands everything will start working and I will be out of diapers and wipes. It’s bound to happen.
I could keep droning on about the other billion minute details of my weekend, but you have been tortured enough.
In cool, blog related news, I received an email today to tell me that I had been chosen to be a Channel Editor for a new online magazine called Blog Nosh.
Details to follow…as is a post on Tuesday about a Very Important Day. Stay tuned.

Elizabeth’s last blog post..Domestic Goddess to the Rescue
Comment by Elizabeth on May 18th, 2008 @ 7:19 pmI think that everyone who blogs regularly has contemplated blowing it up every once in awhile. It’s just part of the whole rigamaroll, I think and certainly everyone understands.
And? I would wear leggings. (You know, if I didn’t have massive saddle bags, no butt and cankles.)
Loralee’s last blog post..Sideblog: The new Orken commercials are just plain creepy. Period, the end.
Comment by Loralee on May 18th, 2008 @ 8:29 pmGrandma is gorgeous! As are you in your leggings, I still have yet to go get me some. (I’m not at home so I can’t see your side stuff for some reason, I’ll have to try from my google reader page.)
Comment by rachel joy on May 18th, 2008 @ 8:38 pmPoor Emily! Looks like Emily loves Grandma!!! I LOVE your outfit! I never thought I’d be admitting that leggings can be stylish! So cute! Enjoy your visit with your sister!
Comment by Michele on May 19th, 2008 @ 12:16 amHi! It’s been forever! I moved and have been busy starting up a dayhome in order to stay home with Evangeline. I haven’t been blogging much at all but glad to see your still at it. I cannot believe how much Emily is changing! Gorgeous! I’m not sure if someone has already told you about this or not but Evangeline had the same constipation problem and I started her on Probiotics…Udo’s Choice namebrand (infant powder) to be found in the Fridge at health food stores..if it’s not in the fridge dont buy it! It’s helped her be regulated now and within two hours of giving it to her if she’s having issues it’s usually fixed by then. And carrot juice is another good one. Great to read your blog again! Take Care
(oh and you look great in the leggins and skinny!)
I can relate with you on not writing in your blog but feel like missing out on things. This whole blogging thing is addictive!! Oh, and you take absolutely beautiful photos.

congrats on the Channel Editor – but you’ll have to fill us in on what that is, or is it just me who is clueless?

Comment by Kristabella on May 19th, 2008 @ 11:10 amCongrats on Blog Nosh! That’s wonderful.
She is too cute, those pictures are darling.
You are so cute and tiny! You can definitely pull of the leggings.
rachel’s last blog post..The day the vagina nearly wrecked the car
Comment by rachel on May 19th, 2008 @ 11:38 amYour kissy face just kills me–you are too cute! But I can’t see the leggings. And as a woman who is desperately searching for a cute pair of leggings, I think I’ll need a better picture.
And poor little Emily, I hope she has more relaxed-bottom days ahead. I think. But now that sounds a bit bad. I guess you’ll need to bring about 79 wipes in your purse. Will that be a problem? Maybe it’s an excuse to go shopping for a larger purse. Tell Matthew I said so.
But her hair is growing in isn’t it? It looks thicker to me! She’s so cute.
The Over-Thinker’s last blog post..Hot Damn! I have a blog!
Comment by The Over-Thinker on May 19th, 2008 @ 4:04 pmYour anniversary?!?!?!
I have the same insane idea about not blogging/photographing things/events. A couple times I’ve actually left my camera at home so that I could try and enjoy an outing WITHOUT IT. It’s weird sometimes to just enjoy an event instead of trying to document the whole thing and missing out on all the fun.
Yes, blogging takes on a life of it’s own once in a while.
Congrats on the Blog Nosh thingy you LOVERLY lady!
