I am still dealing with my nasty cold over here. I will not whine and complain too much, seeing as how I am not a man and therefore do not have a Man Cold.
But if you are wondering? I am coughing, sneezing, and going through my body weight in tissues every hour or so. I have that awful tickly-nose feeling and am amazed at the rate at which my body produces mucous. I will spare you a photo of my tissue pile. And of my face smothered in Vaseline to prevent my nose from turning all red and flaky.
Watery eyes, a red nose and a Vaseline-glistening face. Hottest Mommy Blogger? Ha! My chances are not good for that one.
I am not complaining about my cold. Let’s get that straight. I am merely STATING THE FACTS.
I have been wanting to do a post about the recent struggles I have been facing as a parent of three children five and under. I have been dealing with Attitude and Whining and TOUCHING ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING…to name just a few. In my current haze of sneezing and snot (And utter exhausting due to spending the wee hours of the morning blowing my nose) (But I am not complaining) I am afraid that any post I wrote would come across as being ungrateful for or unloving towards my children.
That is most definitely not the case. I love my children with a fierceness I did not know was possible. Not only do I love my children, I like them.
Most of the time.
Yesterday had more of the rest of the time moments. It was a non-school day, which meant that I had all three children bouncing off of the walls. I would have taken them outside, except that it was twenty-three degrees BELOW ZERO. Outside was not an option. Their rambunctiousness, coupled with my lack of coping skillz, made for a rough day.
After supper Honey did bath time (Like he always does) and I was on the computer cleaning the kitchen (Like I always am). He yelled at me to grab the camera because the kids were being all cute in the bath.
This is the point where I tell you that I am not one to post naked photos of my kids. While I think that little bare bums are adorable, there are too many creeplors in the world for my liking. When I take a photo that shows more skin than I would like to share on the Internet I usually do some cropping. Like so:
But the bath photo was way too cute! Nobody was facing the camera and all you can see are dimpled bums. CUTE.
I wrestled with this all day. I thought that maybe I would post it for a day or two so that my Mom could get a giggle, and then I would take it down. Then I could turn the Flickr setting to family only and delete it from here and it would all be cool.
I still was not sure.
But then! I had a superb idea! I would use my (New! Very basic! Still working on them!) Photoshop skills and cover their crevasses. Like so:
I will still probably take it down in a couple of days, but I could not resist sharing it.
Hee!
The cuteness makes up for the chaos.
Most of the time.

love the “cover-up”!

Hehe, I did the same thing with a bath picture of Liliana! Except I just did a big black box. That’s too cute!!
I totally know the feeling of utter exhausted sick-y-ness accompanied by
annoyingprecious children. Except I have one less. That feeling that makes you want to lock yourself in your bedroom breathing in the sweet fumes of a vaporizer (vaporizor?) and/or Vick’s Vaporub. Sometimes kids’ bedtime just does not come soon enough!!!I hope you feel better soon dear blogging friend!

I think you would enjoy the minus 39 degree (Celsius) weather we are currently experiencing in Edmonton…and that doesn’t include the wind chill. With the wind chill, it’s probably closer to -45 or 50. Gross, I know!
I hope you feel better soon!

My kids are far apart, but I’ve also been a mom since I was 21 years old, so it’s been a struggle in different ways, although there were many days I thought it was a very good thing that they were so cute or they may have ended up at the return counter of WalMart.(Hey, they take everything back, right?)
KIDDING. Sorta.
I am really sorry you are still sick, sweetie. I understand. OH, How I understand.
