NaBlahBlahBlah

So. Do you see that little badge over there on the right? The one with my profile photo that says, “Because I really am crazy”? And then says NaBloPoMo?

No? You don’t see it? Are all of the ads blinding your eyes?

Sorry. But not that sorry.

Those ads are making me some fun money. Enough to buy my dream flash! Next up, macro lenses! And then BlogHer 2008! Woot!

Most of you have probably heard of NaBloPoMo. Except my Mom.

Mom? November is National Blog Posting Month. It is a voluntary decision to post every. single. day. There is even a chance to win prizes.

I participated last year. Emily was a newborn. Newborns sleep a lot.

Pretty in pink

They sleep anywhere and everywhere.

Including on Daddy’s chest.

Sigh

Sigh. This one is in a frame in our room. I almost cannot believe that is Miss Emily.

I was not going to participate this year. I have a hard enough time posting the few times a week that I do.

Except? All of the cool kids are doing it (There are more of you, but I’m too lazy to link). I really want to be a cool kid. Even is it is only for one month of my life. I deserve it. Because this kid? NOT SO COOL.

I will be posting every single day. Photos count as a post, but I’m sure those of you who read this site want more that simple photos. Except for my Mom. She wants more, more, MORE photos of the grandkids.

Should I do more photo posts? Or more kid posts? Or (God forbid) accounting posts? Or maybe more on weight tips and tricks I have picked up in my many years?

Susan also invited me to join the NoBloShoeMo Flickr pool. Thirty days of shoes. I don’t think I have thirty pairs, but between Emily and I we might make a go of it. Like these ones of hers I posted there today:

Emily’s Airwalks

I wish they came in my size.

In non-blogging news (Except? Isn’t every detail of my life blogging news?), Emily and I attended a birthday party last night. Most of you know that three of my girlfriends and I had babies close together. We first took photos of the Fantastic Four in January:

January

In birth order: Avelyn, Emily, Danai and Olivia. I love Emily’s expression in that one.

The next time we managed to take another group shot was in July for Avelyn’s birthday.

July babies

They were kind enough to let the other babies in attendance join the group photo.

Here’s the best one I got last night:

Before (and after) the biting

The rest of the photos involved meltdowns and Mommies (OK, One Mommy. Who owns my camera.) keeping their babies from biting the heads of the other babies.

*cough*

I guess she’s not all cotton candy.

Happy Saturday folks.  Let me know what you think.  I’ll be here all month, including weekends.

  1. Wah! I’m not one of the cool kids! But that is totally by choice. As She Likes Purple said, some of us have nobly refrained from participating in NaBloPoMo in order to have time to READ all these fabulous daily posts. ;-)

Can I tell you how freaking happy I am that you are going to be posting everyday for this whole month!!!!!

  3. As many pictures and weight tips and recipes and foto fridays as you can handle. I speak for everyone (I arrogantly presume) when I say we’ll tune in for everything.

    Bethany, word.

  5. I love Emily’s shoes! I think you should post your shoes here too, to make life a little bit easier for me! Look forward to reading you everyday!

  8. I love this NaBloPoMo time since I have so much to read while nursing my little guy. I am not one to follow and opted out this year – too much to do in November with visiting family. I already blog pretty much daily as it is.

Enjoy and I look forward to reading each and every day :)

Oh and enjoy the flash. My husband has lots of bells and whistles for his camera, including a macro lens that he adores.

  11. Hurray for everyday. I was a bit worried, thought those babies had done multiplied, but I get it, they have friends.
I need to step away from the computer, Hurricane Noel is spitting and blowing, and there are dishes to be washed.

  12. You and I (adults) don’t change much from month to month… but these babies of ours? WOW. I can’t believe all the transformation they go through.

Best of luck to you in keeping up with writing everyday!! :D

  14. I love the baby photos! They’re so cute. And I fully encourage the continued posting of photos. They might be making me a little baby hungry though. ;-)

If I did that shoe thing, it would feature a lot of pics of my running shoes or slippers.

Maybe you should start an accounting blog. I’m sure that would be compelling reading! (I usually have to force myself to really concentrate when my hubby starts talking about regulations and standards and blah blah blah.)

You may not hear anyone else say this, but I would like if you posted about accounting. :) I am just getting into book keeping, so would love any info in that department.
Oh and thanks for suggesting book keeping months ago. :)
    Good luck with noblahblahblah

  18. Oh, oh, I vote for an accounting post!

Right. I guess that’s why I am not one of the cool kids….

    Ha!

    :-)

  19. OH, I’m so glad I’m not doing that..but then I’m not really a cool kid anyway. :) I can’t stand the pressure!!

Cool photos, as usual. I am happy YOU are participating though…can’t wait to read you every day!!!

  20. We are ALL insane for doing the 30 days of posting. But today INSANE IS COOL. Sanity is for the boring folks who won’t take on the challenge of putting up their drivel EVERYDAY for 30 DAYS non-stop.

I’m trying to figure out where there is WIFI on the way to Missouri towards Thanksgiving as we haven’t yet set up the Suburban with satellite access.

    Bwahahaha!
I know, that isn’t funny, but I had this visual of a huge satellite disc affixed to the top of the ‘burb. Bwahahaha! See, there I go laughing again.

It’d be like the Flintstones, but not.

Gah, I need to get off this boob tube and get some rest…again.

I will be looking forward to the daily posts as well! You always seem to come up with some kind of interesting post! I can’t believe those pictures of Emily!!! She was so little! Also, I love those shoes!!!

One more thing…I think it is so neat that you and your friends had babies around the same time – let alone the fact that they were all girls! That is so awesome!

  23. I keep stumbling across you via other totally random blogs and am loving this blog. Fantastic photos!
And I wish those shoes came in my size too. I tried to buy some for my daughter and her size was sold out, I might have to try online, I had forgotten how cute they were.

  24. Good for you, joining the band wagon. There’s no way I’d have enough things to post about, and I’ve never been one of the “cool kids” anyway, so I won’t be participating. LOL.
