I arrived home yesterday after spending three days and three nights away from my three guys and a gal. That’s a lot of threes. Lucky Matthew got to be a single parent for those three days. All I expected of him while I was gone was to simply keep the kids ALIVE, and maybe have the house still standing.
He, of course, far exceeded my expectations. In addition to living, breathing children, I arrived home to a house that was spotless from top to bottom. Including clean sheets! And clean bathrooms! Not only are my kids alive and the house spotless, he somehow managed to find time to plant the entire garden, complete with manure.
He’s Super Dad, Super Hubby…Super MAN. I’m married to Superman! Yay me!
In his spare time (ha!) this weekend, he also managed to whip this up for me as my Mother’s Day present:
The crate we received as part of his parents’ purge of household goods while they’re preparing to move. He used a scroll saw and carved out the “We Luv You” picture holders. He got the photo lab in town to print out the pictures , which required TWO trips into town the THREE kids – I rarely venture out with all three. He truly is amazing.
Isn’t it GREAT? We’re going to hang it in our bedroom.
He also hauled out my stamping supplies and hand-stamped me a card. How cute is he?
Once I finished basking in the glow of my presents, I gave the boys the presents I had bought for them while I was away. I bought them each a dinosaur:
I also bought them Batman shades:
I had to threaten to take them back beg Graham to let me take his picture, hence the face. Check out my reflection in the lens! Isn’t that creative? Except it was a total fluke. I think it looks pretty neat, regardless.
And for Miss Emily? I brought her back two boobs full of breast milk.
She seemed pretty happy about it, and so was I. Pumping sucks. Seriously. I hate the squirting sound. It ranks right up there with nails on a chalkboard.
Matthew also had steaks marinating, which was part of an amazing dinner he made for me. The sun was shining, the kids were happy to have me home, and I took a swack of pictures (check out Flickr). After the kidlets were in bed Honey and I had some quality time together.
I don’t know how else to sum up such a super day, other than to show you a super picture (thanks to Superman) that captures the essence of yesterday:
Now it’s Monday…and back to work. Super.

WOW! WOW! WOW!
Sounds like you need to take a weekend off more often.

WOW!!!! That man of yours is a KEEPER!! I can’t believe he had time to make that present for you (which is AWESOME, by the way), clean the house, change the SHEETS and look after 3 kids all on his own! A++ to Matthew!
