My Little Monkey

The season has changed from Summer to Fall, despite my begging and pleading for Summer to stay. I probably complained too much about the heat back in August and Summer got her nose out of joint.

I’m sorry, Summer! Can we make up? I promise to keep my complaining about the heat to a dull roar.

Now that the cooler (and darker) fall weather is here there are two (among many other) things that occur. The two that I am referring to in this post are these:

  • Footed pajamas come into play.
  • I stick the external flash on my camera and try not to blind everyone.

Last weekend we crammed a three day trip to Seattle into a day and a half. While power shopping I bought Emily two new pairs of “jammies” (which is what we call them around these parts). I picked a suit with “doggies” on them, as she is OBSESSED with dogs. I picked the other suit because it had monkeys on it. We are all about the loving nicknames over here, and “Monkey” is a common term we call the kids.

I was just keeping my purchases relevant, yo.

Emily and I have a nightly routine. It consists of putting the boys to bed, cuddling on the couch for a bit, and then firing Miss Emily into her crib. As she was awake and happy after ditching tucking in the boys, I broke free of the usual routine and had her show off her new jammies.

She chose to sit in front of the fireplace.

Poser.

Do you see the wings?

In her hair. They most certainly are not on her back.

One day I WILL be able to make pony tails.

I have NO IDEA what she is doing here.

She really is a monkey.

One more for the road.

She crossed her ankles.

THE CUTENESS! It is KILLING ME!

You had better believe that if those jammies came in my size I would be all about the matching.

I just want to nibble on her. NOM NOM NOM.

Oh, she is so sweet! I love those jammies (and your fire place!) – I think I’d like a pair of those pj’s too! You’ve definately got those children trained…They’re such great posers :)

  2. I LOVED those kinds of footed jammies as a kid too. If they made them for adults, I’d be seriously tempted to buy them. :)

  3. I love the jammies. I’m all about jammies. I practically live in my jammies. Except of course when I’m at work, then I’m in my scrubs, which are like jammies only not nearly as warm. I think she was trying to figure out what was poking her in the bum.

  7. I’m all about footie pajamas! I’m sad because Makenna is just about out of Carter’s, and they are the only brand (that I know of) that makes footies for preschoolers.

  8. Emily you are a cute little monkey. I think she’d get along well with my Georgia, she’s a dog lover too. Chihuahua’s are the current hit.

  11. I love footie pajamas!

I could never wear them, even as an adult, because I hate having my feet covered when I’m sleeping. I can’t wear socks and my feet always stick out from under the covers.

  14. Ah! We call them jammies here too. Last winter I saw footy pajamas in all sizes (like man and woman sized) at Target. We were having a very broke winter or I would have bought some for myself. Dang that girly is such a cutie patootie! And I totally noticed before you mentioned it that her hair was sticking out – its really getting long! yay!

  15. The cuteness is truly overwhelming.

I have a friend whose daughter, Kara, had hair like that. She was nearly 3 before she could even do the ‘sprout pigtails’

We just saw her the other day, she’s 4 and some months and her hair is all of a sudden nearly at her waist.

YOU HAVE HOPE!!! She said her hair just all of a sudden started growing!

Keep the faith and I soooooo want those jammies in blue for my monkey!

  18. One of my friends is having her first baby (a boy) in December and for her baby shower next month she has just requested clothes and diapers. I was looking at some baby clothes for her today, specifically footed jammies because they’re so cute and snuggly. I was partial to the little monkeys and duckies on the baby clothes. I also probably told my fiance 27 times that I wanted a baby. Now. So I could dress him/her up in the cuddly footed jammies =)
