Look Ma!

Apparently my sister Mel showed my Mom how to send email and check our blogs. Hi Mom! To make it easier for you to find pictures of my monkeys, I thought I’d post some. It’s been a whole 5 weeks since you’ve seen these guys.

First, we have Graham, who is a good mix of Matthew and I. He does lean more towards looking like his Daddy (actually, more like Grandpa D):

Then we have Nathan. He is 100% his Daddy. We know that my genes are in there somewhere; I did push him out after all.

And of course Miss Emily. While we get glimmers of Matthew, I think she definitely takes after our side of the family:

She looks a bit like a deer in headlights because I took about 50 pictures of her last night. All those flashes can’t be good.

I feel a little guilty. It’s really not fair that one set of parents should have three kids this adorable. Sorry, everyone.

I have a really cute story from yesterday that I need to share. Christy, Tianna and I (and our baby girls) were invited to the Wednesday morning ladies Bible study at the church. They wanted to hold a little shower for the babies. They also provided child care in one of the play rooms for our other munchkins. Graham was feeling a bit “off”, so he just sat on my lap.

It was a little get together where the girls got passed around to be held by all of the ladies and were given hand-crocheted blankets and a children’s Bible. They also served up some coffee and cake. We were invited to stay for the study if we wanted, but as G was feeling sick we didn’t stick around.

As they were serving the coffee and cake, they were taking any prayer requests that people had. Women around the room were asking for prayer for various people. Graham was sitting on my lap, and quietly put up his hand. Every once in a while he would whisper in my ear, “Is it my turn yet?”

I would say no, and wondered if he really knew why his hand was raised.

The lady at the front asked if anyone else had a prayer request. Graham put his hand up a little higher.

“Yes, Graham? Who do you want to pray for?”

I cringed a little, thinking he might throw out a random comment like he has been known to do.

“For Nathan.”

“You want to pray for Nathan?”

“Yeah…he fell down the stairs. He hurt himself.”

(Side note: Nathan only fell down 2 stairs, and cried for about 5 seconds)

I started laughing. That silent laugh that is accompanied by tears. Because not only was that the sweetest thing I had heard in a long time (which it was), but he really got what was going on. It spoke to the depths of my soul.

My sweet, sweet boy.

Your kids are adorable. And your story made me long for the days when Belle can actually have a conversation with me. I know she tells me so much, but I don’t understand it all. That must be the coolest feeling in the world to know what is going on in their little heads!!
