Hello?
Tap, Tap, Tap
Is this thing on?
Screeeech!
Um, hi.
My life seems to have moved into warp speed and I’m trying to keep up with it. I’m succeeding. Kind of. For now. I cannot figure out for the life of me where my days go. It seems I wake up and realize that a whole week has gone by…and I still haven’t cleaned the bathroom, among other things.
I was talking to a mom who has four kids. She told me that she had three pre-Kindergarten kids at home for a year and a half and it was the hardest, busiest, craziest year and a half of her life.
Sounds about right.
She also said that it gets better once one of the kids starts school. For Graham, that’s in September. If we assume he starts the Tuesday after Labour Day, that’s about 217 days from now. Or approximately 5,208 hours. Not that I’m counting or anything.
On top of the regular craziness of three kids (feeding them, wiping bums, KEEPING THEM ALIVE), we have a few other things going on this week. And Matthew’s Dad is still gone and Honey is working dawn to dusk. Cold #352 has also hit all of us, Emily included. Boogs, boogs everywhere.
Last night Matthew asked if I would like to go on a date with him this Friday. Without any of the kids. Um…YES! So if we can arrange a sitter, we are heading out. That’s in about three and a half days. Or 78 hours. Again, not that I’m counting.
My creativity for blogging seems to be sapped right now. I have a million ideas bouncing around in my head but I can’t seems to be able to put them together into a cohesive entry. My funny bone also seems to be on hiatus and I can’t seems to find a way to parlay any humour to you folks. Not much I can do about it, and I’m not going to resort to lame knock knock jokes in an attempt to be funny.
I also haven’t taken many pictures, because who wants to see crusted boogs on my kids’ faces? Likely not you. I know that I’m tired of seeing them.
There have been many bright spots, though, and my kids have all been giving me lots of love and joy this week. It’s when they give me grief that I am spurned to put a humourous spin on it, but it’s been pretty low key.
One of the bright spots (probably due to the colds) is that all three kids have been in bed the last two nights at 7. ALL THREE. AT 7:00. The clouds parted, the angels started singing, and I heard a voice from heaven say,
“Angella, get thee to thine craft room.”
Well, maybe it wasn’t quite like that, but I did spend two nights up there stamping whilst listening to my MP3 player. I have been aching to be creative that way for weeks now, and it just hasn’t worked out. So it felt good to get up there and be lost in my creativity. It felt real good.
That’s about it folks. I’m still alive and things are going well. Just completely out of control time-wise. I’m not complaining, just explaining where I’m at. Or where I’m not at, which is my computer.
If you’re lucky (and I’m not) my kids will start being the monkeys they are destined to be and I will have blog fodder coming out the wazoo.

Are you kidding me? Your funny bone is on hiatus? Cause I thought “Boogs, boogs everywhere.” was the funniest thing I had read today.
Comment by reddirtroad on January 30th, 2007 @ 12:08 pmI’m with RedDirt, your blog always cracks me up. You put motherhood into words in a way I cannot.
See you soon!
Well I think you’re still funny even when you’re not trying to be! I can’t believe you guys are sick again…sadness=(
Make sure to post some of that pent up creativity when you get some cards done..I always love some inspiration in that area!
And yes, I agree…most times I don’t even know what day of the week it is let alone the actually calendar date! I often wonder if it will EVER slow down again!!
Comment by Tanneal on January 30th, 2007 @ 1:48 pmIt’s nice to get time to make cards. I have been meaning to tell you that yours are really good. I have made wedding invitations for 3 different weddings. Thats amazing that you got all the kids in bed at 7. I only have one and it is amazing if we get her into bed before 8. Great Job!!!
Comment by Kacie on January 30th, 2007 @ 3:20 pmHope you guys get better soon! I totally understand the craziness, I’m off to clean my bathroom once I finish my blog reading and it’s 8pm. Who cleans the bathroom at 8pm?
Comment by Amanda Franks on January 30th, 2007 @ 5:15 pmNot cold 352! That’s the worst one. Well maybe 353 is worse…
It’s all relative

Hope the date works out!
Three kids? How could you survive without a sense of humour? Of course, that is a prerequisite.
Comment by holli on January 30th, 2007 @ 7:54 pmOff to your craft room…how lucky are you1!? My peanut went to bed at 8 tonight and I just pulled out my last batch of muffins and it’s 10:15 also after doing 2 MORE loads of laundry. Maybe tomorrow I’ll get to my craft room! ![]()
Hey there,
Sorry to hear about all of the sickies. I’ve been hit hard with a NASTY virus since I got here and am still battling it. I hope you are all better soon and I will talk to you when I get home.
I thought this was a GREAT post. I too have about a billion ideas running in my head and some in DRAFT mode in blogger but nothing to be able to post yet.
Thanks for the countdown to school. Zachary is starting kindy the same day, and Lucas will be going to preschool. Just me and the baby for 2 1/2 hours in the morning. Heaven.
