Hey!
Do you guys remember this?
I did a post about it, and asked you to click here. CLICK HERE!!!
It`s over in my sidelog as well. Look over to the right. You can click as many times as you feel led. A hundred times a day would be swell, but I’ll take one a day. Or even just one. Please?
I really, really , REALLY want to go to BlogHer. Apparently other people want me there too. SAJ (creator of that sweet graphic, amongst about a million others…including my banner) and Leah (another stellar blogebrity) were kind enough to do posts in my honour. They rock. Seriously. If I win I get to be SAJ’s spy and I can give Leah a hug in person. So can Amanda, because I’ll be bringing her if I win.
Yesterday, the folks over at Scrapblog even linked to me on their blog. Each click I get is an entry and the draw is fast approaching. July 17th. Mere days away. If I win I might just pee a little. Literally; I have not been good at doing my Keigels.
A few days ago, sweet Heather over at OMSH told me to sing the “Just Keep Swimming” song that Dory sang in Finding Nemo and change the words to “just keep clicking…”
That tune (Just keep swimming, just keep swimming) has been in my head ever since. Mostly because it is so. stinking . HOT. The only thing you can do to keep cool is immerse yourself in water.
Two summers ago we had a house fire (story here) so last year we bought one of those above ground 18 foot pools when they went on sale. We have a water pump in case of another fire (especially of the forest kind; The Sticks are bone-dry), and also use the pool to keep cool.
It’s hard to get the kids to the beach most days because Emily is still at two naps a day. It makes it difficult to coordinate with my friends who also have napping babies. So instead?
We have been spending our days immersing ourselves in the pool.
Here’s Graham The Fish.
The boys are swimming for hours every day. I’m not even exaggerating.
Nathan The Tadpole.
Emily The Bathing Beauty.
She pulls off every hat I try to place on her head. I’m not about to resort to duct tape so I do what I did with the boys when they were babies. I slather SPF 50 on her beautiful bald head and try to keep her in the shade as much as possible. The lotion makes it look like she’s got hair product in, and the little hair she has gets all tight and curly. Ringlets, here we come!
It was so hot yesterday that we all went in again for an hour after dinner. Water is the perfect solution to 40C (104F) heat. Well, maybe not the perfect solution (AC would be the perfect solution) but it sure helps keep us from melting into a puddle of liquid goo.
That would be Miss Emily wishing you all a Happy Thursday. Have fun, be safe, and keep cool.
If you don’t have a pool of your own, come have a dip in ours. You know you want to.

I have a question…does the page have to fully load for the ‘click’ to count??
I think so, but I’m not sure
I don’t have a pool!! I have a beach just a couple of minutes walk away, but I don’t have a pool! So can I come swim in yours?? It’ll only take me a few years to save up the airfare.
Seriously though, I am soooo jealous of your hot summer weather. And after going green-eyed looking at your pics, I’m thinking of getting a new pool for us when our summer starts … our other one got a few holes in it. As much as we love the beach, and as close as it is, there’s nothing like a pool in your own backyard
Ug! 40 be way too hot for these old bones. Glad you have a nice way to keep cool Me, I would move into the pool. For the entire summer.
Good luck on the Blogher trip!

I would LOVE to be able to dip in that pool right now…your pics are awesome at capturing how cool it must be in contrast to the hot temps! Thankfully ours are not quite as soaring, but about 30C for the last few week or so has felt like a major heat-wave (esp in our non A/Ced house!). Makes me glad we sleep in the basement now =)
Anyways, I hope you make it to Blogher! That sounds like fun…and I’ll do a little clicking to help make that happen!
T=)
