I’ve been hit by a truck

Not literally. Figuratively.

It all started on Saturday, after the wedding, when Matthew felt a little achy. The next day, he was achy all over and had a head cold. The boys accompanied him on Sunday, boogs and all.

I, of course, spent Sunday working on the craft room. I was feeling fantastic, and patting myself on the back because I had escaped the cold. They’ve all had their fair share of colds this spring, and I’ve escaped them all. Well, all except for that nasty virus that kept emptying my bowels.

Last night, after supper, my throat started feeling dry and “cotton-like”. I was all of a sudden extremely exhausted and went to bed at 8:00. EIGHT O’CLOCK!

I woke up at 6 with a sore back and a full bladder, so I hauled my hiney out of bed. Still had the sore throat, which was now accompanied by an all over ache. I felt bruised all over.

Then came the nose-tickle, along with the requisite sneezing. Nothing like sneezing when your bladder is the size of a pea. ‘Nuf said.

But on the bright side, there is a wide array of medication in my medicine cabinet. Being pregnant, I can take…

Tylenol. That’s it.

Tylenol has helped with the throat, but not with the sneezing and watering eyes. Or really with the overall achiness. And it definitely doesn’t help with the bladder control, not that any medication would.

Matthew is feeling much worse today, but G & N are back to normal. Which prompted Honey to observe that maybe we need to start eating Red Bar (Strawberry Nutri-grain bars that both boys LOVE). Maybe the red bar is the key to fighting this particular bug.

All I know is that I’m tired, feel like poop, and my patience is, well, limited. I hope that tomorrow I feel like the boys, and not like Honey.

Maybe I’ll go eat a Red Bar.

Not fun. I had a 7 colds that were like semi truck hitting me in the 9 months I was pregnant with Kamo – Tylenol really doesn’t cut it!

How awful to feel sick and be pregnant and hot in the summer and have a house of people who aren’t feeling up to code either! Forget the truck I’d say it’s a bus you’ve been hit with. Perhaps a bath can help with the all over achiness and some of the other symptoms too. I hope it passes quickly!

I sure hope you feel better soon. Especially while you are pregnant, good thing the temperature has been a bit cooler than normally in July. Hope you’re ok.

  4. Not fair when you’re pregnant! :( Hope you’re feeling MUCH better tomorrow.

  5. Eat garlic cloves and drink green tea…it helps and is yummy!

Sorry to hear that you aren’t feeling well. I hope you get better soon…maybe that Red Bar will help. :)

  9. I can totally relate to the tylenol and being pregnant. I try to look at it positively, though. There are so many yo choose from: Tylenol, Tylenol extra strength, Tylenol gel caps, Tylenol ez tabs, now thy have Tylenol rapid release gels. Oh, how pathetic I’ve become. One pill to cure everything, isn’t it great? Hope you’re feeling better soon!

I hope you’re feeling better soon too!

  11. Sorry to hear you’re sick. I’ve been extremely ill too, with almost 2 weeks off work! I had a cold, then laryngitis, then a sinus infection. Not fun!!!
Hope your household is well again very soon :-)

  12. I hope you feel better soon. Nothing worse then feeling sick when the kids are on the mend and bounding around all over the place.

Yeah…you’re really preg. alright. Tylenol is safe for the baby unlike most meds. known to the medical field. Probably it was sinus allergies. Have Matt or the 2 boys clean the house. They admire your hard work and had let you rest. Good thing school is back in session (LoL) +
