It’s My Birthday!

Well, it’s actually tomorrow the 20th, but I’m out of posting ideas thanks to this cold. Besides, I am of the theory that your birthday is a special day. It should be celebrated to its fullest extent, even if that means stretching out the celebrations over a few days.

It’s actually Jen’s birthday today. Go wish her a good one.

I arrived into the world 32 years ago after two (TWO!) days of labour. I was yarded out with forceps due to my little 5’2″ mother and my 9lb 15-ounce monstrous body. I think I need to start giving my mom presents on my birthday. She was sick the entire nine months, had varicose veins and stretch marks, was twenty (TWENTY!) days overdue (I was due December 31st). She went into the hospital on the 18th and laboured for two days. She deserves a medal.

I graduated from high school in 1992. That’s FIFTEEN years ago. Yikes. I may be old, but I’ve still got it. At least that’s what Honey thinks, and that’s all that matters.

Shall we take a look at birthdays past?

Birthday number one:

1st birthday

Birthday number two:

2nd birthday

Birthday number three (Don’t worry. I won’t do all 32):

3rd Birthday

Sweet sixteen. Check out those red lips!

My 30th birthday. Honey went all out. Surprise party, presents, and he even flew my college roommate Tanya and her baby Eve (Daddy stayed home) out to see me. The party was a Mexican theme and they made me wear the shell bikini top:

30!

Last year I had a hot date with Honey, as well as a night out with The Girls. That is also the same plan for this year, and I’m looking forward to it. I haven’t been out with all of the girls since Tianna’s birthday and that was in July. A few days before Avelyn arrived and a few months before the rest of our baby girls joined the Sisterhood.

Last year’s birthday celebration with The Girls was exactly a year ago today. I was at the tail end of my LMP before Emily was conceived. I was in Week 1 of my pregnancy even though she was still a little egg yet to be released. She was conceived about a week or two later. Fast forward exactly a year and she’s already three months old. Crazy.

So, it’s my birthday. I’m not asking for presents, though they’re nice. All I ask is that you wish me a Happy Birthday.

I know. I’ve been asking for comments a lot lately. First, during NaBloPoMo, then during National De-Lurking Week.

But it’s my birthday.

I would do the same for you. And it’s an easy comment to make. Everyone can relate to this; who doesn’t have a birthday? You don’t need to think hard about what to say. A simple “Happy Birthday” will suffice.

Come on; make the little old lady (me) smile.
