It’s a BANNER day!

On Thursday night I sat down at my computer after a couple of days of being away.  I wasn’t too excited about the template I had so I thought I would change it up a bit.  I found this blue and white layout, which was right up my alley.  And more spring-like.  I was dreaming of a new banner, but did not even know where to start.  I thought I’d catch up on my blog reading instead.

I clicked on the lovely and witty Whoorl’s site, and saw that she had a funky new banner.  She had done a post about how the banner was created by her friend and neighbour, the also-witty and always creative Secret Agent Josephine (SAJ).

I left a comment announcing my love of the banner and my envy of SAJ’s creative skillz.  Mere minutes later, SAJ sent me an e-mail and offered to create a banner for little old me.

Really? For me?

I was sooooo excited.  Not only is she uber-creative on her website, her graphic design work and with her party-planning for her little girl, she also sells funky gear on her cafe press site.  She and Whoorl also live in Southern California where it’s ALWAYS summer.  You don’t get much cooler than that.

She just asked me for the banner size and a direction to head in.  My request was simple: spring colours and daisies.  I lurve daisies – they’re HAPPY flowers.  While she was busy working on five (FIVE!  Not one!) banner designs, I was busy trying to figure out how in the heck I was going to get the banner into my template.  I succeeded, except there was a pesky border I couldn’t get rid of.

My head was starting to hurt from banging it on the keyboard so I emailed the lovely Christina over at Red Dirt Road, who offered to fix it for me.  She’s the coding master.  Apparently the border wasn’t in HTML but in CSS.  Oh.  What does CSS stand for?  I have no idea.  I’m guessing it stands for Computer Secret Society, of which I am not a member.  Maybe someday.

SAJ had a busy weekend with a trip to Disneyland as well as having a mobile toddler, and she still managed to make me some sweet banners.  Did I mention that she sent me FIVE banners?  I had a hard time picking which one to start with, so I asked her what her favourite one was.  It’s the one up above :)

She deserves a medal.  And some accolades.  Let’s hear it for Secret Agent Josephine!
