These past few days I have been having some ISSUES with my site. I mentioned them in my last post. The days have been busy out in the Real World, and the few times that I have tried to sit at my computer and do a post, I have been DENIED. Not only that, I often can’t even see my own site.
I have been corresponding with my host. It went something like this:
I can’t access my site. Help, please.
The server was busy. You should be OK now.
I still can’t log in. Can you help me, please?
The problem has been fixed.
Awesome. Except it hasn’t, and I still can’t log in.
Please run this test and send us the file.
I did the test, but no file was created.
According to us, your site is fine. It must be a problem with your ISP.
So I called my ISP. They say that everything is fine on their end. They can run a special test, but the equipment needed won’t be back in the office until TUESDAY. No problem, seeing as how I’m so patient and all.
How am I posting this? The same way I did my last post. Flukity, fluke fluke fluke. And maybe a bit of persistence. I’ll go to my log in page and I get the “unavailable” page. You know, the one that basically says I DON’T THINK SO.
I hit Refresh about a billion times, and then I can log in. Then I click on “New Entry” and go through the same process. Once I’m in, when I try to upload a picture, we start the process again.
I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THIS, PEOPLE! AND I MAY BE A LITTLE FRUSTRATED!
Ahem.
It’s likely due to the fact that I’m a Chartered Accountant and NOT A COMPUTER TECH.
I wish I was more of a computer geek than I am. It might keep me from throwing my laptop off of a big cliff.
I managed to run some kind of diagnostic and it said it had something to do with my firewall. I’m a little leery of fires, so I may have to call our computer guy on Monday to see if he can fix the problem. Because I would like to regain some semblance of peace with my computer.
Anyways. The reason I have been trying to post is to show some shots of the kidlets. It’s been a balmy plus 7 or so for the last few weeks, and the snow is MELTING! I just may throw a party. I can actually see the gravel on my driveway. I never thought I’d be so happy to see dirt.
Remember the quads we got the boys for Christmas with our Airmiles? Well, they have been on them every day. They just do the circle of our driveway, and they rip around at the mach speed of about 0.25 kilometres per hour. Which is why they aren’t wearing helmets. When we actually decide to go exploring beyond the loop, the helmets will be worn. I promise. I like my kids ALIVE.
Usually I take the boys out while Miss Emily is napping, but it was such a nice sunny day that I bundled her up and plopped her in the stroller. First time she’s been in there since she was born, what with all of the Arcticness we’ve been having. Isn’t she cute? The boys though she looked like a piggy. It’s a bunny suit, but piglets are cute too.
Here’s Nathan in action. I am in amazement of how good he is at driving this thing.
Graham has not only mastered driving forward, but can shift into reverse. He shoulder checks and everything.
Once the snow is ALL gone, we’ll suit them up and might even take the lock off of the speed so that they can go a little faster. Maybe. I kind of like the snail’s pace right now.
Now let’s hope I can save this entry. Refresh is the name of the game.

Computer are great, WHEN THEY WORK! I would be beyond frustrated, I have little to no patience at the best of times.
Good luck getting it sorted out.
And my boys would be green with envy to see those quads! But seeing as the only place they could drive them would be on the street, NOT a good idea.
“oh go play in traffic!”

You sure are persistent!
The kids sure look like they are enjoying being outside.

So glad you were able to post and hopefully the problem will be fixed permanently soon! That is if you will be believed that there is a problem. Those quads look like soooo much fun! My husband is already talking about getting Aiden one. I like your little “piglet” too!

I don’t know if this makes any sense to you, but according to your sidebar you are running Movable Type 3.2. I just checked Movable Type’s site and the latest release is 3.3. So you might want to look into upgrading or whatever. That might be your problem (a security flaw of some sort, who knows).
In the meantime, try writing your posts out in WordPad or what have you to minimise the frustration time. Then cut and paste into your New Post admin area when it’s all composed.
Other than that, I have no further ideas or you. Hopefully your computer guy can figure out what’s wrong. (The whole firewall thing sounds fishy to me. Why now?)

Can’t wait to see Emily in a nice Pink Jeep Chasing after her brothers!!

I am doing a post soon of the melting snow. We just came in from a few hours of outdoor time and it was amazing. The kids had their bikes and scooters out. Ed played soccer with Hurley. What a gorgeous morning it has been! Here’s to melting!

Those quads are AWESOME! Isn’t it amazing how they can learn to do such grown up things SO young!

Those quads look awesome. Jillian has a barbie jeep that she got a couple years ago. The first time we upped the speed. She drove right into the beam holding up the porch. So warning, Be Careful!
Sweet picture of Emily, she looks so cute!

Bummer about all the problems with your site!! Hope it gets sorted quickly!
The kids are cuter than last time you posted. Emily is adorable in that suit, and the boys look like “pros” on their bikes. Awesome that the snow is melting, I know how much you dislike winter

You’ve inspired me Angella! I have started up a blog dedicated to “Work-Away-From-Home-Moms” (WAHM)! I have LOVED reading your blog and the antecdotes of a ‘SAHM’- which I had never heard that acronym before I landed on your site, and decided to start blogging about the perils of my crazy life as a working mom who often finds herself staring enviously into the lives of a SAHM.
I was definitely intrigued by your post, way back when, about the whole SAHM debate and thought heck, why not!
Drop by sometime!

Apparently, I suck at blogging! Here is the link to my blog!

I had problems 2 weeks ago with my site and technology can be a blessing but it can also be a big pain in the butt! The boys look like they are having fun on those quads!!

Computers and me only get along when everything is okay. If anything goes wrong…errors, server problems etc. and I’m lost. I guess it’s lucky I’m married to engineer guy. The kids, are my turf and yours are adorable!

LOL…I had that frustration last Thursday. I was sobbing to my husband because I needed to blog my feelings and couldn’t get online.
He didn’t think it was as much of a crisis as I did. Damn pregnancy hormones.
Glad you are up and running…well, sorta running
