How Low Can You Go?

Here’s a picture of me yesterday, before I left to mark papers. I’ll be 30 weeks on Friday already:

(Removed)

Check out that big hair! It’s because I washed it before bed. When I do that, the curls get a little crazy. I haven’t had a belly shot in a couple of weeks because that was the last time I was dressed so nicely. My usual daily attire is my bathing suit (or an old maternity tank top and shorts), with my hair in a pony tail. It’s a rough life being a mom, what with the daily trips to the beach and all.

I’m carrying this baby much lower than my other two. Honey has added that fact to his list of reasons of why he believes we are having a girl this time. Other items on his list: how very sick I was, my (alleged) moodiness, the varicose veins that are taking over my body…to name a few.

I don’t have any “feeling” as to what we are having. I could just be carrying lower because my poor uterus is getting old and tired. It’s the third time around that it’s carrying a big baby, and maybe it just isn’t feeling so perky. I’m also hoping that it means that the baby has turned. At my last appointment the DR. told me the baby was sideways at my mid-pregnancy ultrasound. I go for my next prenatal appointment in two weeks, so we’ll see if that’s the case.

As I said (and showed) last week, this baby’s a mover. That video clip didn’t even do justice to the amount of movement this little turkey does. Despite this movement…and all other pregnancy related feelings…I still sometimes sit in wonder that I’m going to have another little (big) baby. In approximately 8.5 weeks (with the early induction).

That’s about two months exactly, and it still doesn’t seem real. It’s not that I’m not looking forward to it – that’s not it at all. I’m eagerly anticipating who this little being is going to be. I just find it cool that even though it’s my third time around, it still all feels so new. And a little surreal.

Before we know it, we’ll have our little bean, with the soft skin, little body parts, and don’t forget the power poops! Right now he or she is fully formed, and is just curled up and incubating, waiting for their time to arrive and bless us all. I stand in awe of the One who blesses us so.

I just keep praying for the wisdom to be a better parent. To have more patience, to show more love, to just give more of what my family needs. I figure I’ll have it down pat by the time I’m 90. Here’s to the journey along the way. And here’s to a healthy remaining 8 or so weeks, with a nice big present at the end of that part of the journey.

    You look fabulous Angella!

We all wish for those things. We are, after all, only human :)

Good luck with the counseling this week – I am GLAD the marking part is over!

I agree, you look great! Hard to believe that you only have 2 months left. Push for induction Oct 10 or 11( I am working those days!!)My guess is a dark, curly haired girl.

  6. i tend to flip flop back and forth with my feelings of what you’re having. Lately I think despite all the different things you’re experiencing that you’re having beautiful Dykstra boy #3. But, i wouldn’t be surprised either way. I can hardly believe it will be so soon!

  7. Oh my goodness…you look absolutely gorgeous=) I think that’s the first belly pic I’ve seen of you! It’s hard to tell from a picture, but I feel like I look as big and I’m 6 weeks(?) behind you!

So big babies hey? Big G was 10/4…I thought that was large and have been living with a healthy fear of another massive child on the way too!

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see! Hope your last 8 weeks (and the weeks that follow) are better than you could have ever hoped for!

  10. Won’t be long! You look fantastic. There’s NO difference anywhere but your belly (not that it would be a bad thing, though). Take care of that little munchkin by taking care of yourself. You’ll need a break after all that marking:)

    Totally a girl.

But I’ll be just as excited for another boy. Sarah should have options. :)
