I have been blessed - BLESSED to have a ministry with sinners. It works out really well since I too am a sinner. The "Sunday School" face that Christians PAINT on are what I define as hypocritical. We have joy in our love for the Lord, YES!, but we hurt, get angry, even *shhhh* curse when we drop that bag of frozen peas on our toes.

Yes, we do. Shut up - you know you do.

I have been blessed to know Christ and blessed to do a work for Him when he tells me to open my mouth. I have prayed with a stripper to receive Christ. I have watched Him transform the life of a drug addict. I have seen a girl from a family of Wickens come to know him. And oh, how she loves the Lord. In fact, she loves Him so much that in her own special way she "innocently" spoke this out loud in Sunday School while learning more about God's will for her life:

"This Christianity stuff is SO DAMN EXCITING!"

If we are so hoity-toity that we can't relax and let people be, then we will render ourselves self-righteous and useless before the Father.

Perhaps He has called that woman to a quiet life of martyrodom, but not me. He has called me to a bold life where I show the love He has given me for my husband. Where my kids are not afraid to speak to unbelievers for fear they'll "rub off on them" and where, God help us, we should ever think to highly of ourselves.

I am offended by her judgment of you.

Wow..this is a hot one. You have the right to profess your religious faith and you weren't preaching to others, so that's fine with me. I'm agnostic, but grew up in a Christian household (my Mom was Baptist, my Dad is catholic, both never went to church since they were kids). I don't want to get political, religious or moral, but I recognize an unborn baby is a living biological entity (in the words of science) which can move, breathe, kick, feeds, has a pulse and grows. But in the case a woman can't have a baby (esp. she find out she's pregnant with a baby in an "embryonic" state), I hold a different opinion as I'm pro-choice, but won't get into it. Your blog is yours and feel free to speak your mind on many things and interests. I knew many readers are of different faithes and persuasions, but have alot in common with you and me, as human beings who have families and jobs to do. Whether or not you're christian, or Muslim, Jewish, Atheist, Hindu, Buddhist, pagan, Mormon, Adventist, whatever...we like the way who you are and what great parents (you and husband) who love and care about their kids! +

Carefully constructing an appearance instead of being real people is exactly how a few Christians have given us all a reputation of being hypocrites.

Your blog is fantastic.

I suppose that posting a blog puts anyone at 'risk' of unsolicited comments...I also suppose there are differences in our opinions about what being Christian means (thank God)...you are right-we are human and we try our best in the world but sometimes our egos still get the best of us and we need to put in our two cents on someone's blog...look at this way..thank God for different perspectives that at times are even offensive. Thank God we're able to communicate with all sorts of people around the world. Thank God for your blog I enjoy every day. Thank God for hormones. Thank God for babies.

Amen sister.

Everyone has already said so much good stuff. I love your blog too. I envy (uh,oh that's a sin right?) you your ability to make real life so real, and funny, on your blog. I think that's why I don't post that often, I'm not so good at making crappy stuff funny and I don't want to depress everyone (or the 3 people) that read my blog. Keep blogging, I'd miss you if you quit. :)
I have always found that your love for Jesus SHINES through your writing, no matter what you write.

I read you through Amanda Franks. I know I don't need to say it, but people are dumb.
I love the blog, don't stop. Your boys are precious and the stories make me laugh. And that's why you blog, because regardless of what you have and I don't, there are ways we can relate to each other. And the blogs on the internet makes the small world a little bit smaller and little cozier. It's a good thing. :)

I was actually surprised to see that post from you, mostly because you always seem to be a pretty happy person in general terms. The fact that you wrote it tells me that you were reaching out to your readers when you needed them.

When your reader wrote this: "If we are to keep a blog online that is available to the entire world, I think we need to be careful how we present ourselves.", I got a bit confused.

I believe in Jesus too. The way I understood it, Christians are expected to be Christ-like. That means a whole lot of things; learning from mistakes, accepting that we are sinners, etc. Being honest. Forgiving. Hormonal. That's why your post is so great. Because you are Christian and you did not keep up appearance and take it onto your heart. You were honest. And Jesus appreciates your honesty.
