I have a confession to make.

Sometimes this site seems like it has a life of its own. There is a great community of readers who back me up and the pressure to “perform” freaks me out a little.

Every. single. time. I draft a post, I spell check, I proofread, I get it all ready to go.

Then I hesitate with my cursor over the “Publish” button.

It is stupid, really. When I first started blogging, I had zero comments. I posted for the joy of posting. For the documenting of my daily life.

I still do.

But now there are people besides my Mom who come here, who read, and who sometimes leave a comment. I love each and every word that I read, and am thankful (and a little sheepish) that people care what I have to say.

When I hit the “Publish” button, I feel like that awkward white guy, holding out my hand for a High Five.

The very first comment? Calms the butterflies in my stomach. That comment, as well as all subsequent comments, give me the “They like me, they really like me” feeling.

I wish I could post without the apprehension, but it is a work in progress.

Enough of that blogging nonsense.

My Mom has requested photos of the kids. She pushed all nine pounds, fifteen ounces of me out of her hoo ha, so who am I to argue?

The kids. Outside. Being cute. Which is a hard task for them to accomplish.

G Force

SO NOT CUTE.

Nate Dawg

Kind of awful, really.

Miss Emily

OK, FINE. THEY ARE CUTE. Must be some kind of genetic anomoly.

I’m going on a date with Honey tonight (Woo!).

Do you have any great plans this fine weekend?

“When I hit the “Publish” button, I feel like that awkward white guy, holding out my hand for a High Five.”

That had me laughing out loud. Awesome analogy.

Your kids are insanely adorable. Were those taken with the 70-200mm?

The last picture of Emily is so stinking adorable! I love it!

My plans this weekend consist of cleaning, being outside if it’s sunny, and celebrating Father’s Day and my Mom’s birthday at our family’s favourite restaurant tonight. Should be great!

    Enjoy your date!

Packing! Going to the Farmer’s Market! Maybe going to Lakelse (without you, boo!)

I totally get the pressure of the “Publish” button. Sometimes I’d rather click the “Delete Blog” button. But? I have to keep reminding myself who I’m doing it for. First and foremost for me and my family – because I have NO memory.

It’s a hard balance. But? I’ve enjoyed EVERY SINGLE ONE of your blog posts. Even if they’re just pictures. Your kids are CUTE! And you’re honest and real and often funny.

And that first comment? Is the BEST!

ps. that last picture of Emily? Probably my favorite of her.

    You have absolutely precious kids!

And my only plans are to dance around the kitchen while I ignore my need to scrub the large grey pot that I used I don’t know how many days ago and is getting a LIFE OF ITS OWN.

We DO like you, we REALLY like you! Enjoy date night. We need to do more of that. I think we’ve had four or five in nearly 3 1/2 years. That’s just not right.

No big plans here, just surviving the weekend without going crazy. The little one is doing her best to sustain a household injury by flinging herself at stationary objects… sigh.

Meh. They’re okay. If you’re into the freaking adorable kid thing.

Kidding. They are the cutest – and I know cute, as I have the two cutest nieces alive. Also, the sassiest! Who taught them to talk, anyway!

I just got done house hunting (I’m IN LOVE with a condo) and am getting ready to drive to the beach to spend the rest of the weekend with my dad.

9 pounds 15 oz???!!!?? Give your mama a medal :) And your so tiny! What gives??? Darn you and your healthy lifestyle…heehee

Well you know that I get super nervous when I hit the publish button. Immediately, I have to go back in and edit and re-post. About 10 times. And I don’t really completely understand the whole Feedreader thing, so if someone subscribes to my feed, do they get like 10 notices that I’ve posted??? Lord!!

Howdy. I got to you from a comment over at the OverThinker’s place: about how you picked number two and for the first time didn’t mean poop. I laughed out loud, thanks for that.

I’m a compulsive editor, but once I’m finished, hitting that “publish” button for me is sheer pleasure. I love the “publish” button, truly. It’s cathartic, especially after the effort to write the post (although certainly less so for my one-liners like “go read this.”)

Of course, with one reader, it’s easier for me in general.

    Anyway, nice to meet you.

    Hank’s last blog post..Respectfully?.

I am a complusive editor. I read my post about 7 times before I hit publish. And half the time, like this morning, I think of a better way, a funnier way, I could have worded something. And the FIRST thing I do each morning when I get to work is log on to my Gmail to see my comments. I just need one, like you, just to know it wasn’t the whole tree falling in the woods thing!
