Feeling Neither Fabulous Nor Funny

The wonderfully artistic Secret Agent Josephine has taken her generosity of banner making to a new level! She is holding a monthly contest and will give away a banner a month. Check out her site for the deets.

You’ll see that I am March’s winner. Oh yeah, baby! You will also see that she called me “fabulous and very funny”. I am feeling neither fabulous NOR funny. I see all of you nice people clicking on her link and I don’t want to let you down. THE PRESSURE!

Except that the compliment of being called both fabulous and funny sure brightened my day. Thanks, SAJ!

Why am I not feeling my fabulous or funny self? Nothing I feel free to talk about here, actually. I do believe a huge part of it has to do with hormones, and I think that my long reprieve from the monthly morph into the PMS Queen of Terror may soon be over. All hail the Queen!

Add to that the fact that the kids have colds. Three kids plus three colds equals a WHOLE LOT OF WHINING AND CRYING. That’s just me…you should see how fun they have been.

In the midst of the fighting and the crying and the whining (and the fighting and the crying and the whining), things got even BETTER. I came up from the laundry room with Emily on my hip to see Nathan wiping crap on the front of his shirt.

I’m not using a figure of speech. HE WAS WIPING POO OFF OF HIS HAND ONTO HIS SHIRT. I need to get that kid out of diapers. Pronto.

That about sums up my day. Crappy. With laughter thrown in here and there for good measure…and to help spare the lives of my children. Every day can’t be all about rebounding through the daisies, right? Today is definitely proof of that fact.

But tomorrow…tomorrow is a new day. Thank God for that! We just need to get through the rest of today alive. All five of us. Here’s hoping.

Edited to add:

Do you hear that?

Wait for it…

Wait for it…

SILENCE!  All three kids are peacefully sleeping.  Now that they’re in bed the poop on the shirt incident is kind of funny.  That’s assuming the stain comes out of his white shirt…

  1. So sorry to hear the kiddos are sick. Sick kids are not fun and it makes life … difficult. Hope they are all better soon. And I hope YOU feel better soon too. ((HUGS))

PS. I read somewhere that evening primrose oil can help PMS … never tried it myself, but thought I’d let you know.

  4. Oh dear!

I can’t wait for “cold season” to be over, Marin has one of her nastiest cold yet, and she is whiny as a result. It’s so much more draining when they are whiny, and you have 3… I will pray for you, and that your cute kidlets get better, cause it’s no fun for anyone!

I can empathize with you. I remember one day walking out of the bathroom after wiping one kids’ bum, almost stepping on a pile of poop deposited on the floor by our not-quite-housebroken puppy, and going outside to find my youngest smearing puppy poop on his face, arms and clothes. It was definitely a ‘crappy’ day! It took me a little longer to see the humour in it than it took you!

Sorry you’re not having a great time, is it wrong that it made me smile when I read about Nathan? Oh the joys of motherhood I can’t wait.
