Emily: 11 Months Old

Dear Emily,

Um, didn’t I JUST write your ten month post? I guess not, technically, but it sure feels like it.

I have to admit that I’m not feeling the right vibe for writing this post today, so I will keep it simple. How about a list of things you have done this month?

I love lists. Almost as much as I love you.

1. You have two definite words. “Kitty” is one, though the sound you make is kind of a “kkkkkkkk” sound. But you only use that sound for Kitty. “Dada” is the other one. I keep encouraging you to say “Mama”, which is quite hilarious since your brothers say “Mommy” all. day. LONG. and I keep asking them to STOP TALKING ALREADY.

2. I have kept you away from the stairs, but the first time I let you take a crack at them? YOU CRAWLED UP THREE STEPS. Then wanted to sit down. Backwards. Not a good technique. Trust me on that one.

3. You are still a scooching Queen, but have also been branching out into the knee crawl. Like such:

Crawling!

I am so loving the JEAN BUM.

4. You have also been showing your *ahem* displeasure when we don’t let you have/do something, such as eat pop lids or paper or let you stick your finger in the electrical outlet. We are awful parents like that.

5. You have a new favourite play station! The slide! You can’t crawl into the jungle gym by yourself (yet) but you have figured out how to launch yourself down the slide.

Wheeee!!!

I tried to crop that shoe out, to no avail. I really need to work on on my photo editing skills.

6. You are still a great muse for my photography hobby. The boys like to make silly faces or run away or drop their shorts. You, however, haven’t figured out how to moon the camera.

Yet.

Blue Eyes

Emily!

On The Water’s Edge

Peering

You are one pretty little bundle of sweetness and I could not write enough words that would give you justice.

I need to get off of here anyways as I now only have one month left to plan for your FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY!

It’s going to be an EXTRAVAGANZA!

Or not.

But there will be pretty cupcakes, so there’s that. You can’t go wrong with cupcakes.

Love you,

Mommy.

  1. You should put all these posts together into a Shutterfly book or something. What a great collection of memories from her first year.

I can’t get over the fact that our girls are going to be one next month! Yikes. All the things they’ve learned and how much they’ve grown. It’s just too much to take in.

  14. That’s actually my life motto, “You can’t go wrong with cupcakes” although mine sometimes finishes off with “and tequila” but only after commuting or watching my husband’s favorite television shows.
