Eight years ago today, I woke up as a single woman for the very last time.
Before I knew it my basement suite was filled with friends and family. My very close friend (and former roommate) Jasmine and her sister Sage (Also a good friend) arrived. They had told me ahead of time that they were going to take photos of me getting ready. I was not sure why they offered to do so, but in hindsight? It was the best gift that they could have given to me.
They captured me, in my jammies, applying mascara.
My Dad arrived with the Breakfast Of Champions. I am not a Lover of Donuts, but the “White-Powdered-Cake Donuts”? HEAVEN. My Daddy knows me well.
Before I knew it, I was ready. It was time for photos.
My sister Mel, me, and our Mommy.
We all headed outside.
Me and my Daddy.
I think I know which parent I look like.
It was then time to leave.
I got into the white rental SUV.
This is one of my most favourite photos of myself. EVER.
While I was busy being a Princess, a certain fella named Matthew was getting ready. WHO IS THIS YOUNG PUNK?
Oh, yeah. That would be my True Love, aka Honey.
In the meantime, I was heading to the church. Thanks to my Dad/Bodyguard/Secret Service Agent?
I made it safely to my destination.
I walked up the aisle to a teary Matthew. I whispered that he WAS NOT ALLOWED TO CRY, or I would be a weepy mess. We both sucked it up, sniffing and red-eyed.
Next thing I knew? We got to make out.
And then? We were MAN AND WIFE.
We had a bunch of photos taken by the “Professional Photographer”. Most of which I dislike. This one is not so bad.
Then we went to the reception. We had dinner.
We cut cake. And showed it to the crowd.
I’m classy like that.
Apparently Honey found my crassness to be HAWT. He macked on me.
It was (and IS) glorious.
Happy eighth anniversary, Honey! You are the biggest blessing that God has ever given to me. Together, we have been blessed with the three greatest children that this planet has ever seen. I love you more with each passing minute that I get to (I GET to!) be your wife. You make me feel like I am the most valuable woman on the planet. To you, at least, which is all that matters.
You are my best friend, my love, my other half.
And just think. We are only at the BEGINNING of our lifelong journey together.

When I saw the picture you noted as your favorite (before I read that it was your favorite) I thought, “WOW! Oh my beauteous Angella!”
I may be reading it wrong, but the look on your face before the wedding reminds me of how I felt before my wedding. I was calm, but kinda freaking out on the inside. Not bad freak out, just trying to hold yourself together for the hugeness of what was going to take place! Like I was in a meditative state. (Am I even making sense?)
