Don’t Forget Me When I’m Gone

We are in Vancouver, hanging out with Matthew’s family and getting the kids all settled in. Thursday will be spent hanging out with family and doing some shopping in the Big City (Chapters! IKEA!) We leave for Mexico Friday morning. Squee!!
Yes, I KNOW. You are not supposed to tell the Internet that you are going on holidays. If you do, some crazy locals will toilet paper your house or leave you a flaming bag of poo.
While that would be interesting (I have no doubt), this is not a concern of mine as our house is not sitting empty. If you recall, my brother Lance lives with us. He of the six-foot-two and the two-hundred-pounds. And of the gun-toting.
It may only be a paintball gun, but I would love to hear you explain the welt marks and blue paint.
Before you get to Lance, you will first have to drive up the driveway. Our neighbour always seems to be home and staring out his window. And waving.
Normally? I find it a little odd. In this situation? I find it comforting.
Once up the driveway you will need to get by our attack chickens.
If they don’t peck you to death, they may just burst your ear drums with a wicked guitar riff.
(Is it me, or do our chickens look like rock stars?)
If you get past the chickens, you will encounter Kitty.
She looks harmless, but she weighs a TON. She might just squish you like a bug.
Oh, yeah. There is also that little thing called a house alarm. So there.
I will be completely removed from the Internet for eight days. I thought about post-dating some posts, but I decided I would likely sound lame and that would be no good.
Instead? I have lined up a stellar cast of guest-posters. Eight days, eight different people. I am besides myself with giddiness that they all came on board. I love each of them for entirely different reasons. I believe that you will love them too (if you don’t love them already).
It will drive me a teeny bit crazy that I will not know what they have written until I return to Canada. I am sure I will be completely tormented. You know, between the snorkeling and the eating and the naps on the beach.
Please continue to be the sweet readers that you are and show them the love. It will not be hard for you to do because they are ROCK STARS. Well, not literally, but one of them is living with one. Also? They look nothing like my rock star chickens. Maybe rock star was a poor choice of terms. How about “AMAZING”?
Speaking of love, feel free to wish me safe travels. I am looking forward to going, but would love to make it back safely to my kidlets even more.

Oh have fun!!!! I would love (and hate at the same time) to be away from the Internet for 8 days – especially if it meant being on a beach with a hot dude (meaning my HUSBAND!)
Have a great time, and don’t miss your kids too much!!!! I called my four-year-old every day on my honeymoon becuas I missed her so much.
I know. Sad. Hot weather, hot beaches, hot man … and I missed my baby.
