Time to update you all on my smart & quirky boys. Here’s a sampling:
Story #1:
Graham likes to point out the things that he notices. He’s a very observant little boy. Considering he’s of the male gender, it will be interesting to see if this trait lasts past childhood.
When we’re out and about in the minivan, he points out every other Odyssey or 4Runner, “Mommy! That’s like our car!”
He’s so observant, that if he sees a Toyota Sienna, he says, “That’s like Ben’s car!”
Or if the 4Runner is black (ours is silver), it’s “That’s like Auntie Karen’s car!”
He recognizes the body types, etc. He’s never pointed to, say, a Caravan & thought it was like ours.
So last week, we were getting out of the van, and he says, “That’s like our car!”. I look around, and not a van is to be seen, so I ask him where he sees it.
“Right there!” and points to a Gold Accord. “See? The letter H!”. For Honda.
Like I said, he’s observant.
Story#2
Matthew’s Dad comes here to work out of the office every day, and he drives a Jeep. Nathan calls him “Papa” (can’t say Grandpa yet), and also calls his Jeep “Papa”.
When we’re out and about in the van during the day, Nathan will all of a sudden should “Papa!”, so I’ll look for a Jeep. He notices every one. Another observant boy…
There was no “Jeep” to be seen, but a little Geo Tracker.
Graham pipes up, “THAT’S not a Jeep.”
Smart kid.
Story#3
Here’s one to warm your heart:
Nathan has a nap every afternoon. When he wakes up, Graham leaps up from whatever he’s doing and shouts, “Nathan’s awake! Let’s go get him!”
I let him go in first, and he says the same thing pretty much every time:
“Hi, sweetheart! Did you have a good nap? I missed you!”
How cute is that?
I have many more stories, but don’t want to bore you. Hope you enjoyed these ones. I enjoy living them.

Awww…I love that last one
Zachary used to do that when Lucas was a baby. Now they nap together with their arms wrapped around each other. It’s the only time (well, almost) that they aren’t beating each other ![]()
Zachary is like this too…VERY observant. As is Lucas. Lucas sees a van likes ours and always says “daddy’s van”…it has to be the same color and make too. Smarty boys, huh?
Adorable! Those stories are keepers ![]()
They will enjoy them when they are older…

Awwwww…. how cute!
