Nathan has been pooping on the toilet! Yay! I really do take pleasure in the small things in life. And the large things. I really don’t care what size his loafs are, as long as he’s dropping them in the toilet instead of in his gaunch.
We came through on our promise that he could have a NEW TOY once he started using the toilet. Did he want a new truck? No. Did he want new jammies? No, that’s Graham’s deal. Did he want something else superhero related? Nope. He wanted one of THESE:
Yep. A vacuum. Not only is he the spitting image of Matthew, he also has Daddy’s penchant for clean floors.

Miss Emily decided to side with Daddy in the “Every Little Girl Needs A Horse” debate.
I am still of the opinion that the wooden variety is much less expensive/time-consuming/labour intensive/stinky as a real horse would be.
However. These baby blues will may cause me to cave one day.
A sweet old man at church today came up and said, “HE has such nice blue eyes.”
Sigh.
She was wearing a pink shirt and white jean capris (Yes, very cute). She looks great in blue (makes her eyes even bluer, if that were possible), but I won’t be letting her wear blue in public until she has a full head of cascading hair. It’s coming, folks.

Graham has been four going on fourteen lately. I don’t know what happened, but he’s suddenly older. He’s got a killer sense of humour and you can’t slide anything past him anymore.
Like my stinky fruit toots. He’s taken to saying to me, “That’s disgusting!” Which? They are, but his use of the word disgusting cracks me up.

Matthew has been hard at work on our deck (on top of everything else he does around here). There were splinters everywhere and his baby girl was getting some nice chunks of wood on her mobile little legs. He rented a sander and made the deck nice and smooth. While he was at it, he cut a hole to sink the hot tub (that’s what you Americans call a spa). The deck only needs one more coat of finish and then the railings go back up.
Pictures on Flickr. Go Honey!

I spent the better part of yesterday evening in my craft room. Honey took a break from his deck work so that I could go up there and be creative.
I bought three gifts for three friends yesterday. I was inspired to make pretty little gift bags to match the pretty little bracelets.
Fun!
While I was at it, I thought I’d make some cards to match the bracelets and the bags.
Whee!
Playing with pretty paper was so what I needed. And? I am really happy how everything turned out.
*claps hands excitedly*
Those three presents are for three of The Girls. Whenever somebody has a birthday, we leave the kids with their Daddies and head out on the town. We went out for my birthday in January and for Christy’s birthday in March…and we haven’t been out since. It’s been four months, which is way too long.
We’re leaving early to do a bit of shopping. Then out for a big group dinner with The Girls. A night of food, fun and friends. Something else I desperately need right now.
*claps hands excitedly*
Hope you are all having a great weekend too. Peace out.

Ha, I must not be that American. I call them hot tubs too;) LOVE the bags and cards girlfriend! Way to flow with the creative juices! And I’m not looking forward to the days when Landon can call me out on my “toots”. (I still haven’t decided what we’re even going to call them:0) But so cute that Graham says that! And lastly way to go Nathan doing the Big #2 on the toilet. That would make me proud too, it’s the simple things that make me happy as well;)

Pooping in general is cause for copious amounts of celebrating… in the john… well you need to get some fireworks and have a real ho down, yo.
Oh, my. Where did THAT come from. It seems that my vacation up north has caused me to morph into some form of Canadian red neck….
Have a fanatastic night with the girls. You are one crafty lady – those are some beautiful bags and cards. Happy shopping:-)

I hope the vacuuming the floor obsession carries into his teenage years. Wait…Before that, maybe I should hope that he is able to keep his floor clean enough during his teenage years to actually be able to SEE it. THEN he can obsess about vacuuming them.
Whew. I almost got ahead of myself, there!

Hey! This totally has nothing to do with your blog
But I need your blogging brain – how do you type words in your post that also double as a link to the site you want people to be able to visit? I’m having to do a blog for school and I was curious how you did that
Thanks!
