Blast From The Past

Momo from Romania (!) tagged me with this meme. I was uninspired for a post today, so she came to my (your?) rescue.

"Go through your archives and find the post that best fits the words listed"

Something SERIOUS

I don’t think anything was more serious than our house fire

Something totally ROMANTIC

Well, how about how I came to be married to Matthew, aka the best man ON THE PLANET?  The best man for me, anyway.

ALL ABOUT ME

That’s easy.  I happen to have a post titled About Me.  There was also my list of 100 things.  Though this entire blog is mainly about me and my perspective, wouldn’t you say?

Something FUNNY

Well, I try to be funny most of the time, though I often fail miserably.  I’ll link you to a couple that still make me smile.

Point number 2 of the last meme I did makes me laugh, because I know God has a sense of humour.  At least I hope He does.

Then there was the decree I issued.  It’s still in force.  And still changes hourly.  Gotta keep them on their toes, you know.

A year ago I did a post about our vacuum when the handle broke.  We ended up fixing it with duct tape (How Red Green is that?), but now we really need a new one.  Since that post was on my old site which has since been deleted, I’ll copy it here in the hopes that you Internets have some good suggestions.

Our Vacuum Sucks

Actually, it doesn’t. That’s the problem. It used to suck, but the handle broke today.

It’s an Electrolux, and until today worked amazingly. It was a hand-me-down from my parents, because they had moved into a house that sucked. Built-in vacuum.

I think it’s almost as old as I am. Which is like 700 in vacuum years.

I bought a Dirt Devil once, when I lived in Vancouver. But it sucked. As in, it didn’t suck very well. So, I returned it.

And now the hunt is on for a vacuum that sucks. Well.

Not sucks, as in doesn’t suck.

Suggestions?

Now who to tag?  I have a hard time tagging people because I don’t know who likes to be tagged and who doesn’t.  Since I was tagged from the other side of the planet, why don’t I tag a few people from over there.  Hannah, Robyn and my sister Dayna.  If I didn’t tag you and you want to play, please do.

Please help us with some vacuum suggestions.  It’s time to bury the beast we currently own.

  2. Wow, I’ve been tagged! I’m hardly ever tagged, so thank you! By the way, I’ve been there done that with the vaccum thing … hard to find a good one that sucks in a good way ;-)

I wish I had a good vaccuum suggestion, we have one that doesn’t suck well enough. It’s so important when there’s kidlets. I’ll be checking these comments for suggestions you get!

  5. Ha! Funny that my friend just said the same thing about her vacuum – that it didn’t suck. She had her eye on one of those Dyson ones… you may have seen the commercial on TV… 1000′s of protypes later I have something that works.

    Check it out here:

It’s the vacuum that doesn’t lose suction so it must really suck! But in a good way:-) Apparently they sometimes carry them at Costco.

Talk about timing! Sean has been researching vacuums over the past month…we are looking for one too. I know he likes Mel’s DYSON-now the cat’s out of the bag….he tried while over feeding the fish…then he was addicted and had to ‘try’ it almost every night over there….he will be mortified if he knew I told you this….don’t most people snoop in homes? Not my hubby-he vacuums them.

  8. So funny that the vacuum thing came up again because we are needing to replace our electrolux (ugh, it’s only 7 years old) and I was thinking about your post from last year. SO strange. I was going to ask YOU what you ended up getting. Now, I guess I’ll just have to steal all of your advice!

  9. LOL, I don’t know if I’ve been blogging long enough to meet the criteria….I’ll have to go digging ;)
We have an electrolux ultrasilencer and its great. It has the special asthma filter thing so its safe around Becca and its really quiet (as the name suggests!). Good luck.
