Matthew harvested his first bear last night! I always say that he “caught” a doe/buck/bear, and then he reminds me that “catching” is more like “hugging” as opposed to shooting the animal in cold blood.
Harvesting is the correct term to use.

That sounds so hard core. The truth of it all is that he has taken up hunting, so that we can be (more) sustainable, and bear is what is in season. The thought of eating bear is weird to me, but I’d never eaten deer until he started hunting and if it’s not in the rut, deer is no different than beef. We shall see what I think of bear. (Stay tuned.)
