Three of my eighty (OK, eight) siblings are here visiting, along with my step-mom. We are in the midst of a heat wave so we did what we do here in the summer; we went to the beach.
One of our beaches has a water park right on the lake front, so that’s where we headed.
The boys were in their glory. Running, splashing and having a grand old time.
Here’s Nathan’s “Sears” pose. I just wanted to post it to show the lake in the background.
As you can see this is an absolutely awful place to live, what with the lake and beaches and SUNSHINE and all. It’s a rough life, but somebody has to do it. Just doing my part, yo.
Graham also made some time to swim in the lake. I swear that kid is part fish.
Here’s Miss Emily modeling the bathing suit I bought for her while I was in Vancouver.
I think she’s maybe practicing to be a Rockette. Or maybe doing some high kicks to get a bit of a thigh workout. I told her that she better not work out too hard…those are some nibble-worthy gams she has going on there.
We were lucky enough to meet up with Christy and her three munchkins. Her oldest two played with my oldest two, and the babies attacked each other and swiped toys. It’s started already.
They also played in the water together.
If you think Emily’s thighs are scrumptious, take a look at Olivia’s thighs. I need to get me some BBQ sauce.
This was not only our first beach day this year (YOU try taking three kids to the beach), but it was the first time I had bought my kids Popsicles from the Ice Cream Truck. I’m such a cruel Mommy. Hey – if they don’t know what they’re missing…
It took Graham 4 and a half years and Nathan almost three years to have their first beach-bought popsicle. And Emily? Nine months. The baby of the family always gets it so good.
Here’s Emily having her first taste.
More lake in the background. Like I said, it’s a horrid place to live.
Note that I am not wearing a swim suit. I finally ended up ordering FOUR from Land’s End last week to try on…and am impatiently awaiting their arrival in the mail. Hopefully tomorrow…
The next few days will be busy with family and such. We are also heading to the Coast this weekend to see our California family who are up visiting. We have much to do so that the people taking care of our house while we’re gone will know what to water/feed/etc.
So. This may be it for me until after the weekend, unless something uber post-worthy happens tomorrow.
The first family swim in the pool also happened today. It’s SO nice to have Dayna here to take pictures of our entire family unit. I would post the family photo, but the bathing suit I was wearing was six years old and about two sizes too big. You couldn’t pay me enough to post it here. You lucky Flickr folks will get to see it, though.
Here’s another one of me and the Miss instead.
Happy Independence Day to my American buddies…and I hope the rest of you have reason to celebrate as well.
Peace out.

Thanks! And happy belated Canada Day to you!
Emily’s utter happiness is infectious! She looks so thrilled with everything in life… what a little ray of sunshine!
I like your popsicle face, like you’re willing Emily to get the bite in her mouth.
When do you find out if you won the trip to Blogher?

Oooh ooh, I’m a lucky Flickr friend!! Guess where I’m off to now? LOL
You sure do live in a horrible place. How on earth do you put up with it?
Honestly though, it looks GORGEOUS!! I want Summer! How funny is that, when I’m posting my summer pics you are saying things like that to me, and now the shoe is on the other foot!

Ooo … looks fun! I’m off to Flickr too

Ya, it sucks where you live…it was nice seeing you but boy, was I glad to get out of paradise…
Have a safe trip ‘down south’ to the mainland..

Totally and completely jealous of the nearby beaches. Also? You look foxy in the popsicle picture. (That sounded vaguely dirty, no?)

Sigh, summer in the okanogan(/shuswap) nothing beats it!
Loved the pictures.
Enjoy your weekend!

Have a great trip to the coast!

Around these parts, any large mass of water is melted snow or ocean. Takes the fun out of playing in the water. I miss bathing in a few inches of warm water.
Looks like a blast! And yes, 3 kids at the beach is def. not something to dream about. Looks like you made it, though!

Great great great pictures here.

WOW! Those are some AMAZING pics! Emily’s little chubby legs are soo stinking cute!! and you look absolutely amazing!!
We just saw an ice cream truck for the first time of the season a couple of weeks ago. My boys didn’t even know what it was…and we didn’t make a point to mention it

What I wouldn’t give to live near a beach these days! So glad you guys enjoy it to the max out there!

Hmmm….the lake and the beach! Sounds wonderful as at 10:30 at night it is STILL 30 degrees on my thermostat after a scorcher of a day! Can’t wait to get out to the Okanagan in August!

Nathan does look like a sears model. He is so cute. Emily and Olivia are so beautiful. They are lucky to have each other to grow up with. Have fun on the weekend down on the coast!

Isnt this weather amazing?? 37 degrees up here. We were in the pool at 9:00 already this morning. It sure helps when you live out of town, to not have to drive all the way to water. Especially after yard work, you just jump in!
Sounds like a busy and fun time for your family. Have a great time.

Great pics, wish we were there!

Sounds like a fun day! I remember being so excited when the ice cream truck drove by…However, I don’t remember getting a treat from it very often!
