Aboot? Oat?

I am convinced us Saskatchewanians do not have the accent of which people speak. And you so don't have an accent.

Or I have the same one. Whatever.

:) I am all for this vblog, go for it girl!

You might say "aigs" instead of "eggs," so add that to the script.

I lived in Canada for two years, and I agree that Canadians do not say "aboot"...many of them do say "aboat" though, as do my Minnesotan cousins and my Wisconsonite friends.

And I have to agree that you do have a bit of a Canadian accent. But then, we all have our own unique speech patterns. :-) I'm from the Midwestern States which has the flattest, most boring accent ever, but when I traveled in England I got teased many times about my funny accent. And when my friend (a fellow Nebraskan) and I admitted we kinda liked the accent we heard in the voices of people in Bristol because it was easy to understand and sounded similar to our own speech patterns, our London friend with the posh accent burst into laughter and informed us that the accent we were talking about was considered a "hick" accent in England.

Words I have attempted to eliminate from my 'at work' vocabulary because if I say them my patients fail to take me seriously:out, about, roof, decal, bathroom and eh (of course!). The strange thing is that the longer we are away the more we notice the accent our Canadian relatives have. My husband once had a friend of his burst into laughter after he answered his cellphone. Hubby had been talking to his dad and our (American) friend insisted that he had suddenly switched gears and started talking 'Canadian' after he answered the phone.

Metalia wants to hear you say "oot and aboot" which we so DO NOT say. I have never heard one Canadian from across this great land say aboot. I don't think we have accents at all. We are plain vanilla.

Carrisa (andsosheblogs) claims that she doesn't have an accent. This is a total lie, as she has a darling southern accent.

I'm with Lisa - I need to hear you say pasta. And, I'll add taco to that. But, only because my mom used to work for a Canadian guy who pronounced both those words very strangely.
