No, this post is not about bowel movements. I could regale you with stories of the bowels movements of my children, but today is not that day.
The explosions I am talking about are of the Diet Coke and Mentos variety.
Honey was practicing an experiment that he is doing for Sunday School (he’s the large group leader). He practiced, and I took photos.

What’s that? Science experiments bore you? How about a shot of me getting ready for our hot date night on Friday (the rest are on Flickr)?
It was a super night. In addition to good food…we got most of our Christmas shopping DONE.
Tired of narcissism?
How about a cute baby girl?

She rocks the casbah.
So much for not posting.
Sunday is all about decking the halls. Photos to follow FOR SURE.
Hi. I’m Angella, and I’m a blog-a-holic.
Save me from myself. Please?

Science rocks. We haven’t tried this experiment, but we have done the “baking soda/vinegar volcano” to death. Superb shots. In answer to your comment, Etsy is hard. eBay was great, but I wanted to get into a different market catering to handmade goods only. It is SLOW right now. Have a good rest of the weekend.

We always did the coolest things in Sunday School. Have you ever been ice-blocking? It’s ridiculous, but so awesome.
[Reply]
Ice-blocking ROCKS. Dangerous, but SO MUCH FUN!

Those are the cutest pictures of Emily!!

I’d heard about this experiment so many times that we actually tried it in the summer! I wonder what would happen if you ate mentos while drinking coke!?! And, I’m surprised to see your diet coke spraying everywhere…I thought you would have used something else!
[Reply]
I’ve heard of the mentos + diet coke thing but have never actually tried it. Rob takes the 12-13 year-old boys group at our Sunday School and I KNOW they would love it, so I might show him these pics.
How did YOU feel Ange, about seeing all that DC going to waste?!?!?!
[Reply]
Woooo-weee! We had a hot date too. Beowulf and Mexican Food – we don’t bother with the frivolties…cut straight to the margaritas.

Love the Diet Coke and Mentos photos! Last year when I was teaching the science of chemical reactions, I showed my kids the episode of Myth Busters with that experiment. Of course the kids wanted me to take them outside, but being pregnant and winter I would not do it.
Great photos and glad that you had a wonderful date with hubby. Must have been the weekend for shopping. We are basically done with it for Chanukah – which starts this Tuesday – ACK!
And be a blog-a-holic if you want to . . . it is therapeutic I say!

My first thought was they are wasting diet coke!

You may have to copy and paste it, but it shows what happens when you eat mentos and drink diet coke.

I love the pop pics. Halarious.

That’s such a tough chick pose. Haha. I love it. And the baby is mighty adorable, drool and all. Her eyes? Gorgeous.
[Reply]
That’s not Diet Coke is it!?!?!
Love the second pic of Emily, she has such a big pretty smile.
[Reply]
Cool expirement… did he have to pry the bottle from your clutches first?
What amazes me is that you post quality posts often. I post junk infrequently
YOU rock the casbah!
[Reply]
I’m not sure what planet I lived on until last week, but I had never heard of the mentos-and-diet-coke trick! I heard this trick mentioned two different times last week at Makenna’s school. And now, I have a photo demo!
[Reply]
Thank you so much for continuing to blog, everyone else seems to be taking a month break…teeheehee…I was having withdrawals.
[Reply]
LOVE the photo of Miss Emily smiling.

You looked pretty for date night.

Cray-zee. Matt is officially the coolest Sunday school teacher ever.

Hey Angella,
If you are 1/2 the dutch I think you are you would not waste a perfectly good 2L bottle of Coke! Are you crazy?

Hey Angella,
I forgot to add in my last past because I was so steaming about wasting all that Coke… what did Mentos ever do to you? You could have fed a Dutch family of 8 for a week on that.
Confused,
Matt “Needle” Dyck

Looks like a great way to spend a Saturday.
