A Weekend Of Content

Not content as in “really good blog fodder” but content as in a weekend where nothing went horribly wrong (and nobody was horribly terrible), and we just enjoyed ourselves in general. Except for that hour or so before bedtime when everyone is whining. And crying. And MELTING DOWN. I then burst into my nightly chorus of, “It’s the end of the world as we know it…

No matter how good the day is, that last hour COULD NOT PASS ANY FASTER. We should start paying a babysitter to come and deal with everyone for those final sixty minutes. It would be worth every penny for the sake of my sanity.

I became an Auntie again this morning. I don’t want to post any details until my sister-in-law Jennifer posts them. Just know that Mommy and baby are fine. I won’t even tell you if it’s a boy or girl. How’s that for suspense?

I was going to mention how Miss Emily has been a little bunged up, and that I knew why and was taking steps to fix that…and then she just laid the HUGEST COILER EVER. I don’t even have words to explain how fascinated I am with the amount of poop that came out of her little body. I don’t even poop that much. Too much info? Glad I could oblige. I considered taking a photo (I’m not even kidding), but thought better of it.

Besides, I took about a thousand photos this weekend, give or take a couple hundred. Some are on Flickr, and some still need to be posted there. Why don’t I share a few?

Yesterday Matthew packed snacks and took the boys on a quad riding adventure. He took our point and shoot Canon and actually took pictures! Will wonders never cease? Here are two he took with the boys:Nathan and Daddy

Daddy and Graham

The boys were all cute and cleaned up for church this morning, so I started snapping. Those ones are already on Flickr, and OMSH left a note on this one:

Trouble

She circled Nathan’s eye and said, “You better watch this one … he’s gonna be up to all kinds of stuff. :).

My response?

I KNOW.

He’s had that little twinkle in his eye since DAY ONE. Oh. Man.

Here are the dudes having a snack on the deck.

Afternoon snack

You can see the fort in the background. The kids like to “help” Daddy build it. Honey has the railing done…so now I can stop feeling like I’m going to barf every time the kids are up there.

Here is a picture of Miss Emily after having some of Daddy’s water:

Drippy

This one makes me wonder if it’s really water in there:

Spiked?

I just like this one of my dudes:

Hope this weekend was good to you too. Sorry for the lack of drama and chaos. Well, not sorry at all…there’s just not much to be witty about. Give it a day or two (oh, for two days of peace…) and I’m sure the kids will give me more blog fodder than I will know what to do with.

  5. Looks like a fabulous weekend.

And thanks for not sharing the picture of poop. I may have felt the need to compete and show you the masses that can fall out of my boys. I don’t think that would be a good post!

  6. The very next time I have the opportunity to write or say “she just laid the HUGEST COILER EVER” – I am totally doing it. Bwahahaha … Mr. OMSH loved that line.

Still trying very hard not to covet the treehouse – especially since it is Sunday and all.

Oh, and … Mason Jars are notorious for holding Gin Spritzers … I’m just saying…

I’m with you when it comes to the last hour of the day. Except my day always seems to go south around 4 o’clock in the afternoon. Congrats on the new Dykstra!
