A little bit of that…
We’re getting down to mere days until we meet Baby D (or hours – anything could happen). While there’s always the question of whether or not this is a boy or girl, that is honestly not the biggest curiosity I have. I wonder what the baby will look like, who they will take after, what kind of personality is waiting to come out and make me sit in wonder.
When Graham was born, he was round and chubby and had soft blond peach fuzz for hair. When Nathan was born, he was long and lean, and had a full head of auburn (!) hair. I wonder what this little one will look like. Regardless, I know that he or she will have that soft silky skin and smell more incredible than any other smell on Earth.
At least until the mustard seed poop starts.

My Mom and stepdad are arriving for a 6-day stint starting Sunday afternoon. They will be here to watch the boys while we go to the hospital, and will get some prime newborn cuddling time.
They live way up in northern BC, which is either about a 20 hour drive from here, or a few hours on a plane (at a completely outrageous cost). The last time I saw them was July 2005 at my sister Mel’s wedding. The last time my Mom was at my house was in February 2003, so she’ll get to see all of the renos we’ve been slowly working on.
I’m looking forward to seeing them, and for the boys to get some quality Nana time. She’s a great Nana, and loves all of her grandbabies fiercely. Plus, she’s a great cook, and Thanksgiving dinner will be on Monday. Mmmmmm…

I’ve been trying to spend a lot of one on one time with my boys as pretty shortly here my time is going to be filled with my reclaimed position as a milk cow. My attempts have gone only marginally well, mostly due to the fact that Daddy really is their favourite. This of course is a good thing, but I’m sure that once I’m a little preoccupied I will have three kids clamouring for my attention at times. Which is also a good thing.
Graham can. not. WAIT for the baby to be here. He loves to feel it kick and will kiss my belly and tell me he is kissing the baby. Or he’ll put his lips on my belly and blow so that they vibrate. He will then tell me that “the baby is laughing!” He’s so great with other babies, that I know he’ll be a fantastic big brother.
Nathan loves babies too, as long as I’m not holding them. He’s getting better, thanks to all the practice he’s had lately seeing me hold other babies. There’s Amanda’s sweet baby girl Avelyn, as well as Kaili’s cutie pants Jaia, and my friend Shelly has the twins Jonah and Sadie. Babies, babies everywhere.
The baby boom really has hit, so if you need a fix, feel free to come and visit. Because even after mine gets here, there are more coming. Ala Christy and Tianna, among others in town. And if you know my sister-in-law Jenn, she’s expecting their Baby number 2 in the spring. That will make grandbaby number seven for Honey’s parents…seven kids aged 4 and under. Family dinners will be more hectic than ever. Especially if they turn out to all be boys (the first five are)…

That’s about it. Here is a picture of my two boys, participating in one of their favourite pastimes. Eating.
They are best buds, great roommates (They love it! And sleep fantastically!), and are pretty darn cute in general. I really do need to write down more of the craziness that comes out of their mouths.
Happy Thanksgiving! Here’s the centerpiece Graham made at Playschool:
And to my non-Canadian friends – happy weekend!

That’s a fabulous center peice – what a creative little guy!

Oh Ange- I just can’t wait for you to have this baby. I’m secretly hoping for a girl for you but you are such a wonderful mom to boys that I almost can’t picture you any other way.
Love ya!

Happy Thanksgiving! What a special centrepiece! I’m excited for you, knowing your baby is going to be here very soon. And because as soon as I find out the sex, I am going to start work on the “thing” I am going to be sending you. Now you’re all curious, right?? Hehehe.
