Emily and I just returned from her three week check-up.
We arrived, and I had to strip her out of her warm and cozy clothes. We headed over to the scale and placed her little naked body on the cold scale. She just laid there and silently looked around. The nurse said that she was the quietest baby they had seen all day.
I think Emily is like me in that I don’t take compliments well. I always say something to negate the compliment. She can’t speak yet, so upon receiving the compliment about her quietness, she proceeded to pee all over the scale. That’ll show ‘em.
She weighs 4.4 kg or 9 pounds, 10 ounces. That puts her in the 95th percentile. Boo-yeah! I’m serving up cream, ladies and gents.
My doctor was off delivering yet another baby, so we had a sweet older male doctor as the stand-in. Emily still made no peeps while he checked her hips, etc. He commented that she was quite long, and noted that I’m not short. I’m not considered tall at 5’7″, but I’m not short either. I told him that my hubby was 6’2″, and that I have come to terms with the fact that ALL of my children will tower over me one day.
He measured her, and sure enough, she has grown 2 cm. Which places her in the 95th percentile for height as well. Daddy’s basketball team is coming together. We may need to adopt for the fifth player, because I can’t play basketball to save my life.
He concluded our appointment by telling me that she is perfect. But we knew that already, didn’t we?
She looks so peaceful!

Aww, beautiful picture! And nice work on the milk…Lauren just weighed in at 9 lbs. 13oz. on Wednesday when I took her for shots. Looks like I’ve got another shortie. You go, Emily!

She is soooo sweet. Big Girl! Adora was always huge. She’s still on the 95th percentile and people always think she’s 5 or 6.
